Its sucks when ur in the US because you always have to go through ppl to get hmv, play and fs steelbooks like iron man. I think this one is awesome. The play.com one is really nice but not the original....

I think you need to really have this in your hands to understand why this steelbook is so highly sought. I think the future shop version looks better than the play.com version. It's because the steel is zoomed up to IM's face with the glowing eye and the mean look reflects he is a tough metal fighting machine.

i agree with what your saying. I think the FS one is probably one of the nicest sb around....its just as much money as some ppls entire collection

I think he was saying the original one is better.

edit: He beat me to it.

Yes it is expensive. And I say it before, after all this play.com hype the value will still hold. Every collector wants to hype up any pre-order to get the attention. But once its over collectors will realise this is the version to get that want the 'best of the best'.

If you are not into spending hundreds of dollars you don't need to get this. play.com serves you £11 best money spent for a steel.

Thats correct

Sorry, just the way it was written...

i Do that a lot.....I think its pretty amazing that the value of this is so high. Was it a low production amount or just an anomoly that made this steels value skyrocket.

Not sure what the print was, 3000 - 4000, but it was only available at Future Shop which doesnt ship internationally making the steel very rare for international collectors.

The movie appealed to the general public and many marvel fans who have waited so long for IM to be released.

Just an awesome looking steelbook with large embossed letterings. It looks better than the pictures do and exceeded my expectations.

The only other release for IM was the German version Media Markt which IMO looks ugly and did not even put up a debate which version to get.

That sounds legitimate enough to build the value. SO int theory that german hugo release will be very valuable because its only 1000 copies....production quantity on steels seems to be shrinking quite a bit but there never in the US

Yeah theres a lot of factors that determines the value of a steelbook.

You can get steelz with a low print run but it wont be of any value if no one buys it, simple as that lol. If there is no demand for a steelbook that is difficult to obtain there is no reason why it should sky rocket high.

I believe Hugo will increase in value due to the low print run and high demand. Lets see what people start paying for them on ebay. If no one wants it on ebay sellers cant demand more.

IMO what rockets the steel high is the popularity of the movie, low print run, quality of the steelbook and exclusive to a few countries. That is an example of IM FS and that is why it has rocketed so high for demand.

The same seller had previously listed the exact same IM with the same picture here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/330729594924?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1438.l2649

The listing ended at $710 on the 14th May which is the same as the FIRST listing that ended with $504 on 31st May in the afternoon.

The winning bidder on the IM listed on the 14th of May with feedback of 709 had previously bidded and made offers on several IM's before as I recognised his feedback number and also the two letters R and D so it is unlikely that this buyer is a shill bidder inflating his own prices.

The SECOND listing ended at $360 again on 31st May by the same seller. The winner is a buyer with 0 feedback that also bidded on the $540 IM upto $480. I find this very unusual why a seller would list two IM's together that would end around the same time and on the same date. And one of the listings is identicle to previous listing that ended on the 14th May which I suspect it is from a legitimate buyer.

So it all appears a bit suspicous in my opinion. Anyone seriously after this grail would had made these enquiries already. Who knows? Maybe they got a great deal!

It was...(ahem)...I who purchased the $360 IM. I was outbidded on the $540 sealed IM - embarrassingly and irritatingly so since I was prepared to pay much more than that for a sealed/mint copy. And...yes, I have 0 feedback on eBay as I have never purposefully visited eBay until I picked up this insane steelbook collecting habit a few months ago. Being OCD, I would rather have the $540 one than the $360....but such is life. Now that I have the IM FS, it is time for me to move on to other steels...:D

To be honest nothing is ever really OCD mint is it. You can always find the smallest of imperfections. Anyone who is 'OCD' mint is just not gonna work. I think the description 'mint' is better than the term 'OCD' because OCD is unrealistic most of the times.

Well done FM, about time U dug in deep in your pocket and got this beauty lol, nice one my friend glad you finally joined the IM FS club :scat:

While Play.com is amazingly good it will never beat FS one ever, so many great factors about it, the blu-banner, the exclusive and awesome fron-cover-art, 1st ever IM steelbook to come out etc, no matter what happens when Play.com one come out it will always be treated as a re-release nothing more nothing less and while FS value might get knocked down a bit, just might, it will be go up again once Play.com hype dies/fades away around its release day, IM FS & Rambo will always be the true kingz of steelz, like it or not :p
