I've done nothing wrong. I've just voiced my opinion, that's all. If I can't do that, then I might as well leave well enough alone :(

No one said you can't voice your opinion.

But what was stated, is as in the do's and dont's, and some other threads stickied in this forum, there is a general sense of keeping it positive, keeping it upbeat, and keeping in the spirit of this forum and this thread.

Retailer discussion can be directed towards our "FAQ thread", where things like pricing, returns, and other items can be discussed at length.

Discussion about damaged steelbooks can be directed towards our "venting" thread, for instance.

General guidelines about what is OK to post, or how to approach posting in this forum is also discussed in the above do's & dont's thread.

This may be different than some of the other forums you have visited in the past, but we hope that's one reason why many of you will keep coming back and keep things from getting to the level of arguing and bickering that happens in other forums.

PM if you need to, and thanks.

Just as an FYI

The Trades Descriptions Act and the Sale of Goods Act both say that goods have to be described accurately.

Even if something is bought and then brought back the next day it is still classed as "secondhand". It should be very clear what consumers are buying and that they are not being misled, which generally menas returned goods need to be advertised as ex-display or refubished.

This is the reason large retailers in the UK have ebay outlets.

from personal experience, some retailers in the UK don't follow these rules & when questioned immediatly issue a full refund & blame it on a human error, which is probably true to be honest.

I can't fault play, due to level of demand and nature of these items you are always going to find unhappy customers for one reason or another.

I know it's play themselves selling the item, does that mean they can dictate what price to charge? No RRP etc?

The same thing happened with a few other 'sold out' items from Play, they came back (very briefly) but the price had gone up, the same thing happens with HMV, their prices are up and down all the time...

I spoke to a manager at Play.com, and I have to say their customer service has been excellent thus far (obviously not the unfulfilled order part) and he was very helpful. He explained to me that it never should've been put back up on the site, as the stock was actually stock they were waiting for to fulfill existing orders who hadn't yet received their copies. He said that none of them should've been despatched, but it obviously looks like some have slipped through the cracks. I suspect their will be a fair few very angry collector's contacting Play over the next few days, as by the sounds of it they can't get hold of any more copies and they have given copies, which should've been reserved, to people who didn't order them originally.

The same with IM2, apparently they've received 70+ complaints and they've spent most of the day trying to resolve the issue.

The proverbial **** has well and truly hit the fan at Play HQ!

Very helpful comment, Wreck. All I was trying to do was update members on the situation. Sorry.

I dont mean it in a negative way to you mate, but just more so kinda my experience with like how we get info from people at Best Buy in the USA. (A lot of Best Buy info can be treated with a grain of salt) Seems there are so much back and forth info at the lower level with cust. service type people at Play that its hard to know what the truth is ... thats what I'm getting at. Cust Service is meant to try and put the consumers mind at ease ... thats all I mean.

I mean I know from our contacts our side, and then I hear what you got from that side .... feel me?

While this is a very busy release for them, I dont think it means **** has hit the fan at Play HQ ... at the end of the day its a successful release so its made them money so I would think even with the struggles of the logistics that its still a positive thing at HQ.

Mine is still currently 'processing at warehouse' according to my order status.

I take it this means I will be refunded in the next 24Hrs then as it shouldn't have been relisted on the site?? :(

Hey Roverite, lets work on what matters most, your still short of an IM right? Instead of getting angry about the situation you should focus on sourcing one. I PM'ed you a few times to help.

I do. I apologise for taking it the wrong way.

TBH, I'm not too bothered now. At first I was very annoyed, but now I've calmed down I've realized the obvious, it's only a steelbook and my life won't end just because I don't have it.

The guy there was very helpful, and in a way I feel sorry for him for having his hands tied by whoever created this problem in the first place over at Play.

I suspect you'll receive yours if the stock has already been allocated.

Hey, bud. I know, I very much appreciate your kind offer. I'm not annoyed anymore, I just wanted to hear it from the horses mouth so that I could update HDN members, I'll get back to you regarding your offer tomorrow if that's ok?

I agree with roverite, the steelbook looks really nice and all .. I would like to own this steelbook myself, but the situation as it stands on ebay.com (high prices etc) is just unfair.

Sorry hope i'm not violating any forum rules here .. but i was hoping If anyone is willing to help me as well? i dont have 30 posts so i cant access any trading pages in the forum.

Has anyone who ordered when it came back in stock the other day had theirs dispatched? I ordered and it stated 'awaiting stock' so i'm not holding out much hope, but all my other orders from the same day seem to be stuck too. I have orders stuck in 'order placed', 'processing in warehouse' and 'awaiting stock' since Friday. Has anyone else had this issue?

Hi All-friendly reminder-please do not post trade requests in the general Steelbook threads. After 30 meaningful posts, you can post your own trade thread and take part in group buys. Thanks!

I'm not sure to be honest. None of my orders have updated at all over the weekend. Don't know if this is normal or if there's an issue with my payment or if they just have a problem with their system :dunno:

If it is 'awaiting stock' for that long it will most probably cancel as it happened for IM2, had that status for a while before it cancelled.
