I definitely belong to the camp that doesn't want "certain" steels re-released. Iron Man 1/2 are in the top 5 of that list.

That being said, the Thor and Cap A re-issues from Zavvi haven't changed the values of the originals as the new versions are vastly inferior to the originals. If Zavvi want to make a couple of cheap arse matte finish pieces of junk for those that missed the grails version I wouldn't ***** too much lol. If they pulled another Star Trek they will get a barrage of abuse

I think by now they have got used to it as they already get a barrage of abuse

I fully understand collectors point of view wanting to have a special sort after steelbook in there collection I have a few myself that are wanted but I don't buy steebooks for that reason it just has happened I have a few that others want

I buy because its a Film I want and I have double and triple dipped on some film releases on Blu-Ray
Reasons to mention
New Extras
New Artwork
Remastered Video release and sound
Box Sets with exclusive extras (JFK/Ben Hur/Scarface etc)
Digibook Release that I like and want
Steelbook Re issues because I want it and don't already have a Previous Release that's no longer available

End of the Day they would sell as Iron Man is very popular and others should have the chance if it arrives and why not
If something is popular and will sell it makes sense to do it

HAHA so true! I have the Pulp Fiction Criterion 4 disc THX Laserdisc box set that was the first to feature all the extra's long before dvd. Cost me £200 back on the day of release. Now worth maybe £20 to a QT collector even in mint condition.

When the replacement to blu ray finally arrives even the grails will be worth basically very little.

Same. Price doesn't bother me, as I refuse to pay more than £40 for any steelbook, and "so far" haven't needed to. I do enjoy the fact I own rare steels that others will have a hard time getting at a normal price, but not because of the cost it's just the rarity factor. Even that said I still only buy films that I REALLY want, so that rules out pretty much 98% of what Zavvi currently have been selling

well of course it is worthless, it is just a piece of metal shaped and painted to the liking of many. If you would crush 1,000 different steelbooks and mixed them together, well, it would be just scrap metal & sold by the kilo .

But we can't think like that, otherwise a shoebox in Manhattan would be worth a dollar, just like a shoebox anywhere else in the world. But the shoebox is in Manhattan, so it costs you $2,000 a month to live in that particular shoebox.

I wish I was into steel books when this first came out. Now i have to pay $150 to pick this up! Am i crazy for paying that price? I think I'm going to pull the trigger when i have the funds as I'm a big iron man fan lol. I just can't let my girlfriend now that i paid $150 for a movie i already have lol.

First piece to puzzle...a must have!

For me, this one sealed the deal! As soon as I got my hands on this edition i realised i wanted to collect steelbooks from then on. Its was the most beautiful steelbook i had thus far. This is a must have.

•Next came Iron man 2 play.com. Then you have to decide, "Do I want the HMV Thor or the Zavvi Thor?" For me, it was HMV of course. Zavvi wasn't out yet but I knew it was coming and I didn't care.
•Then you have to ask you're wallet next: "Japan CA or Zavvi CA?" As for me, my wallet said OUCH! I mean, BOTH! Lol
•Once the marvel (don't forget XMEN!) collection is out of the way, then it's Batman, Tarantino, Scorsses, Schwarenegger, sci if, action, crime, u name it, et cet et cet, & before you know it you're even collecting slipcovers! Here's a pic for my Ninjas!......

This isn't even selling for 100$ outside of Ebay these days. I thought this would be worth much more considering the gap to the FS version. I guess there are that many floating around still for sale to keep the value down..
