Ok, this is a game changer. I preordered this from HMV-JP also. I added the gift option to this single item order.

This is the packaging. Bubble mailer, and then a sturdy box, and then a bubble bag, and then paper wrapped. Needless to say it was in pristine condition.

Amazon - are you seeing this!

Thanks mate for all the fantastic pics. Yes, this steel could in fact be a future grail. If you don't intend to keep your dented Iron Sky Jpn, you may want to put it on eBay to test the demand for this steel ie test its "grail-ness".

Hmm but an opened, dented steel is never going to fetch the same as an OCD sealed one.

Only problem with Amazon sellers (if you can find one that ships outside Japan) is the kind of packaging they might use. If you're going to go with one then it might be worth picking a seller who has a lot of steelbooks for sale - hopefully that way they'll provide better packaging for that product. A lot of the affiliate sellers seem to be merchants who sell a range of goods - books, toys, etc. - and they may not package a steelbook as well as you'd want.

Good luck with it though if you decide to try - I think at least one other person in this thread has gone that way, so maybe check with them and see how it worked out?
