It's Snowing!

First snow of the year here in Kansas. We usually don't get too much snow, around 4 inches with each storm. Where I'm at, we are expected to get 6-12, so I'm really excited. I can't do my homework, as I'd rather watch the snow fall.

But snow won't stop me, I am getting up early to pick up Harry Potter's new movie tomorrow, g/f got it cheap on BBY.com...

:scat:

I've been in the odd Hurricane as well but nothing like you have. Hurricane Juan hit us hard a few years ago and my family lost 800 acres of forest. We also had a winter storm that year that was dubbed "White Juan" and it tore up everything but with snow and wind instead of rain and wind. bear in mind there was little to no snow on the ground the day before, hahaha.

EDIT: well lookie at what I found.

ya was the blowing and drifting that was the real bad part of it. I remember seeing this picture in the paper or something. This poor bastard went off the highway as the storm was starting and needless to say, he never got out, lol.

this is my camp on my dad's land. if you zoom out you'll see alot of the land he had to cut because everything was split and dying. lucked out to have some live trees around the camp tho, hahaha:

no he got out. his truck was just found like this the next day, haha. no one inside. I assume he eventually came back for it.

what's so funny about having a camp? you a city boy aintcha? hahahaha.

Well its more so funny because you have your own ... over here their are camp sites, not many folks who have their own. You got all the wildernes.

But yeah, I'm definitely a CITY BOY! I prefer suburbs now though ... a little more peaceful but close access to all things city that I cant live without.

I'm with you on that but thenh again, that's what the camp is for. those days you just want to get away, ride the buggy and have some beers.

Yeah it would be pimp to have a camp site all to my self and friends haha. When i was younger 17-20 we would find abandoned roads .... and go party on them lol sometimes .... course we hit the bars at 21 ;) And I had my apt way before that so I guess that road **** only lasted for like one year lol 17-18

HA! I remember using abandoned roads as impromtu party spots

I remember we used to haul a bunch of beer out to developing suburbs before anyone was living at them and throw block parties..

Man there was this one time we were partying out at this unfinished main road construction area.. I guess they thought it was going to rapidly develop so they built all these roads that ended up never getting used (so much so that people planted "stuff" out there). Anyhow, this dude tries to drive off and met the end of the road a little too late and got his car stuck at the site.. he came runnin to me asking to help and I'm like.. man.. you're drunk, your car is stuck at a closed road construction site, and I don't even have a rope.. what the hell am I supposed to do? It's 1 in the morning!

Poor guy.. I'm pretty sure he ended up waiting until he was sober before calling a tow truck. I felt bad, but at the same time I'm thinking... Why the hell did he drive over there? I mean there's signs that say road ends?

So when's the invitation coming? hahah:D

anytime you wanna come up and stay a while in the camp I have no problem with that. maybe some of you like to hunt. we got some pretty nice deer around here. there has actually been reports from people around my dad's land that there is an albino white-tail living on the land somewhere. haven't seen it myself. the coyotes are pretty thick these days out there tho, haha. It's cool to sit around the campfire outside my camp and listen to the packs circle you. you can hear them walking around thru the bush and then out of nowhere one of em will let out the coyote yell, hahaha. scares the **** out of ya.

are those mudlites??? gotta get me a set of those. how far north in Sask are you? I almost went out there for work this summer to do bridge inspections. apparently there are thousands of bridges being inspected in Sask this year (my company is doing 1200 of them). They found me too valuble here in the office to let me go...D'OH!

Yeah mudlites got one with regular tires as well prefer the mudlites though.
Typical the diff has got stuck on mine so cant use it now until i pull it all apart :O(

I live about 1.5 hrs north or Regina.

We have lots of bridges and lakes/streams.

The Wifes no mudlites :O) loads of mud when the snow goes.
