I think the art looks great. I also think the steelbook community has become far too critical about artwork.

The way it used to be is... you get what you get, and even previous steels that look... errr... um... I'll say "okay".. seem to be quite sought after once they had sold out or become hard to get.

I agree. Steelbook collectors have become way too critical. Most threads seem to have at least a couple of comments which basically say 'worst artwork ever'. In reality most Steelbooks have decent artwork and many have great artwork. Only a few are real duds.

Totally agree. Very few steelbooks are truly ugly. I would definitely not call this new Jackie Brown one ugly. It looks perfectly fine to me. Displays all the main characters and has clean art on the back.

Even though I'm not a huge fan of the artwork, Zavvi will still have my money as I need this to go along with the other Tarantino releases.

Ok I feel the need to rant now, this has been cropping up far too much. Absolutely, I agree with the last few posts about artwork complaints. Only a minor few are TRULY terrible. People go apeshit over certain titles which I can never fully understand (Wanted Germany? who cares if it's emobssed, I grabbed the almost identical UK one for a cheap €8 and I have to say it's nothing special, Play.com Zombieland pfft, overrated. People went crazy over this because the artwork was similar to the oop German one, I like the fun movie but I have to say the steel is nothing special and I would've happily stuck with my €4 amaray. The recent Zavvi Commando, come on folks was it really that nice apart from the embossing...very very average, nice I agree but nothing amazing, could've been a lot better)

Anyway, the list goes on. We're all absolutely entitled to our opinions but we should be more grateful as a community that we are given this alternate artwork to begin with, plain and simple. I've noticed recently a lot of moaning and complaining and general hatred towards Zavvi and other Ninjas opinions which is getting out of hand.

I've been a long time member of a respectful Nine Inch Nails forum called echoing the sound, and while debating in general is widely welcomed (forums would be boring otherwise), the likes of members moaning for the sake of moaning is seriously frowned upon. Not to sound like a typical Neanderthal YouTube random commentator, but if you've nothing positive or constructive to say about the particular Steelbook in which you are unhappy with, don't say nothing at all, you're wasting your own time and it just get's fans of the artwork or movie enraged which then tuns into 5-6 pages of negativity.

If there's a title you feel didn't get the right treatment then simply deal with the cheap-ass amaray you already possess with its universally known artwork and be be thankful you only shelled out the price of a cheap DVD for it instead of moaning about it.

Just to end my rant on a positive note about how artwork really doesn't matter.

I upgraded Gremlins from my vanilla UK DVD to regular Blu-Ray amaray form and it's been sitting on my shelf for about two years now. I've watched the amazing special features as they were all completely new to me but I have yet to watch the movie in HD. This movie is easily in my top 20 of all time and when Zavvi announced it I was ecstatic. The artwork just got released and there were numerous negative pages to sift though before you could see something positive.

I agree, the front artwork could've been improved big time and the inside is atrocious as they're clearly images from the sequel but you know what, I loved the back artwork and to be positive along with other happy members I spoke my opinion. While i was a tiny bit critical I didn't moan about it. I was very happy overall that this was being released in our favourite format to begin with. This gave me an alternate option to purchase my movie, albeit a tad more expensive, in a different packaging or to deal with my cheaper amaray edition. If you don't like what Zavvi are producing there are cheaper alternatives.

Onto my point...I noticed after all the negative talk about stripe on the front with the crayon and the cropping / photoshopping errors etc that I found myself walking over to my collection and picking up my regular Gremlins amaray only to find that the image of Gizmo on the front was indeed that of Gremlins 2. I was never a fan of the white image used but all the time that I owned Gremlins in HD on my shelf I never even copped that the image wasn't from the original. I picked it up on Ebay for €5 including postage and I was just happy that is was an upgrade from my DVD. The artwork I mostly saw was the spine. Sometimes the artwork can bug us to no end but you know what folks be happy that our retailers even bother to give us a different alternative.

Even though we're all collectors, at the end of the day it's the disc and movie that matter. If you're not happy with the expensive steelbook artwork, don't rant about it and don't buy / pre-order it..

Here is a guy on you tube comparing packaging from the old Killer Klowns Region 1DVD to the recent MGM Blu-Ray cover art. It cracks me up. I agree with him wholeheartedly but it's an insane rant, I've since learned to deal with the new packaging because my movie looks better in HD and every single post I read about a new Steelbook reads to me like this guy.

Yeah the front is a bit meh! However I like the back artwork and we have come a long way from the blue band, age ratings and loads of text being printed all over them.

Sorry guys but the front cover sucks big time, I was really looking forward adding this to my Tarantino steels, now I'm pissed off

I like the artwork, but I think this is of those steelbooks which needs users photos and reviews so can be properly judged
