um.......what??? group buy is done?

that's pretty freakin' depressing. i guess i have to hope FAC comes thru, but something tells me I'm missing out on this and FAC has a ton of my money on credit. the suckage of this is greater than the sucking power of the iconic Spaceballs Oxygen stealing space maid.

Had they used the proper artwork for this I would have got it but there is simply nothing unique about this one to make me bite. Happy with the zavvi one. (for all it's faults!)

Time to vote with my wallet (not that I ever got to use my wallet with FAC). Any time there's a new thread about an upcoming FAC release I'm not even going to bother to open it. No chance of getting one so will save myself the grief.

If any HDN admins are reading this... This was very poorly managed.
No communication, no courtesy of a response of the FAC representative despite a PM
A bit of a lottery this site, being here at the right time.
Obviously no one can be on this site 24 / 7, so the odds of getting an FAC edition you want are stacked against you

Time to move on from FAC in general, they do not honour their commitments on direct orders, their reps do not respond here. If FAC was a bricks and mortar retailer, one would never go to their shop again.

Rant over.. Probably a blessing in disguise I couldn't secure a copy
This was a dogs breakfast of a release anyway put together as a last minute replacement, and extras containing Jaws 2

Good riddance
Bit dramatic.

Has it been and gone? I had requested a collectors number from fac while ago. Never knew i had it until one day i logged in. Not sure when it had been added. And i never seen everything there just random stuff.
I check the other day and its gone. No more collectors number. I know they would love me and everyone to buy every copy and some do but i aint one of them i just get what i fancy.
Probably be a while again before i get a number. Not too fussed anyway there are other retailers who do better editions to be honest. But its nice to have a mix. Im more into manics sets and the odd edition but that's probably not enough to keep a number active. But it sure did not sit in my account long when i first seen it.

Quoting you for context, but this is an FYI for anyone who didn't know.

If you take a look at @CollectorEmtee 's post:

Hey guys,

GB was posted, but just because GB host needed to have it ready for when he will be adding copies, he doesn't have a lot of time due to his regular work, hence he posted it as he had some spare time.

Copies should be added on 15th of June.

He did indicate the copies would be added on the 15th of June. And that's exactly what happened, in the host's timezone.

He didn't indicate a time, because he didn't know when Karel would be adding the few copies that Filmarena would have allocated him. Is that perfect? Of course not. But we need to remember, the guys are basically doing a favor to other collectors by hosting and facilitating these GBs. Neither one of them works for FA or represents it (unless you meant you spoke to FA directly), neither one of them gets any money for the help they bring (unlike GBs seen elsewhere), apart from when a member might consider sending a tip. So we need to cut them some slack.

The issue remains a simple matter of supply and demand. FA is no longer a newcomer in the hobby like back in the day. Over the years, they have garnered a large number of fans who for the most part buy each and every single one of their releases. Those collectors have been assigned collector numbers, the said number obviously matches the number on the edition bought.

Plus they have their VIP system in place, where pre-orders go earlier for those VIPs than for the general public. It's their way of thanking their loyal collectors for being with them all these years and not skipping any release. Is it perfect? No. But that's the way they chose to do business and those not happy about it, have a choice to make peace with it and buy the release that they can, or vote with their wallet and not buy anything at all from them, even when a title is easily available.

Now, what happens, when you have for example, 1000 collectors with their own collectible numbers, and only 500 copies? Simple really, 500 are going to miss out, at the very least, without counting those who don't even have a collectible number and buy the odd release here and there.

That obviously also affects how many copies would be made available to the host. In the past, Karel had a larger allocation and GB system on here was different. But what happened since, many would drop out of the GB, leaving him hanging with copies he had already paid for and having to store them at his home and workplace, till it got really out of hand, financially and logistically. So he started handling it differently, and his orders with FA shrunk. With time, and as FA is not relying on GBs as much as it used to, they decided to make less copies available for GBs since they can easily move them through their fans who order directly. And here we are.

@IRON MAN
Fair enough, not disputing what you have said
But reiterates my point even more that for FAC, it's still a complete lottery
Those that were lucky to be on the sight for the particular time zone were able to secure the 7 copies

I get the demand vs supply thing, but please let's accommodate the factual position
There was no systemic approach to this mini GB, and seems one had to be extremely lucky to secure a copy
Not a criticism, given the circumstances and situation you have eluded to, just a statement of fact.

It is what it is, we will all still live without this copy
1st world problems, not an issue
