Very simple mate....do u buy a tv set to keep it sealed? Lifes too short open it and enjoy the beauty of the bullet holes and the film has to be watched...one of me faves from last year.

pretty much this. unless you plan on reselling it there really isn't a reason not to open it (unless you collect several versions of the movie or plan to sell it). You instill your own value on it and that won't change if you open it.

Play.com last's exclusive steelbook and one that I'm not a big fan of really has there could of done alot more to it, I think I would of liked something similar to the german front art but with title the bullet hole debossing from the back of this one. Anyway moan over, I've still not watch it yet even though I opened it way back in January.

1) Noticeable paint chip right on the middle as seen here:

no these are all paint chips/ printing errors not part of the design, my copy has the same just in different positions

Sorry to hear that fellas. This is one of my favorite movies and steelbooks. And I must be one of the few lucky ones to have a mint copy since I cannot seem to find these paint chips anywhere even after handling this one many times. I almost always open/unseal my copy and slip them into a thicker polybag ASAP unless they are from Taiwan or Korea where they use a thicker grade of shrinkwrap. The angle (east-west) and location (front cover, not edges) of the chips would, to me, seem to come from mishandling prior to shrink-wrapping. Wonder how many folks have copies with these paint chips (or that method, how many actually unsealed their copies)?
