Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

HMV now in administration said:
People should just be aware of 2 things:

1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund

2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Available to pre-order right now.
Release date: January 28, 2013
Purchase Link: Amazon.co.uk
Note: No inside art (see post #443)

Excellent news!

ordered from amazon almost same price for me minus VAT and combined with the warner classics wave so shipping will be saved. but with the HMV site down I can't cancel my order gonna call my cc company tonight

I believe it was 4 months ago when I made the prediction. I never said it would happen the day I posted it.

I never dreamed that Play and HMV closing shop all in the same month.

Amazon does it again!!!

I don't reckon anyone wanted that prediction to come true, especially so close to another retailer

Now Amazon are just a beast with no competition. I predict that is a bad thing :(

yeah they cant charge if they have no intention of supplying. that is theft, and illegal.
if the site is down, and stays down, then they won't charge.
2013 - 13 =unlucky
play.com =1
hmv=2
so 18 more places to close?
the high street can die now for me, i have pretty much no cause to visit town now.
and with little to spend my wages on, what point is there to go to work.

Totally agree. Shouldn't the highlighted bit read "with little wages to spend". :dunno:

Personally not sure we'll get anymore HMV exclusives. They are all generic covers (I think) which could be added as a second run once new slip printed. Crying shame.

£20.99 @ Amazon? Is it not enough that Amazon have killed off their competitors that they're taking the f**king piss with prices? I'm guessing this is going to happen from now on.

They can f**k off.

Asian steelbooks will be cheaper to import at this rate. :hilarious:

well, i decided to pre-order.
but for that price im gonna inspect ot veeeery closely. anything other than 100% mint and i will asking for a replacement.
i think for £20.99 we are perfectyly entitled to expect absolutely no dings, scratches, paint issues etc.

edit- did you say no inside artwork!!!!!! think i might cancel and wait for the bargain bin in that case.
steelbook with no inside art = £15 max value for me. cheap swines. so hmv were gonna screw us over anyway.

the normal blu ray edition is £17 and hmv were selling this for £18 so it really shouldn't come as much of a surprise that this is over £18 at amazon its only a few quid extra for a nicer edition even without the inside art, we should just be happy we can even get this.

I dunno from hmv I was going to be charged 22.50 GBP after shipping since these release the same day as the warner classic wave this is working out to 19 GBP afte you factor in the shipping when I added it to my amazon order. Sorry but no complaints here, on top of the fact that amazon usually starts higher and can lower prices. They only added the listing today

Is this truly confirmed to not have inside art? Everything surfacing about this release is making highly regret not getting the FS version.

Yes, and the good thing with amazon at least is that their returns and exchanges policy will guarantee that. It's one area where they are really pretty good.

I've ordered at Amazon just incase.
Can always cancel.

I ordered instore.. Think I might pop in tomorrow for a chat about existing preorders.

Wonder what they will be doing with existing stock?
