Don't know either. Only in the last few days has it been downgraded from gloss finish to spot finish. Or as I like to call it "Aviator gloss" IE matte.

The Aviator was spot gloss.

I believe info is passed on from the studio to Zavvi, who are then kind enough to share that info with HDN. Obviously, for whatever reason, there was a change of plan and they've now decided to go with spot gloss. I'm thankful that they've at least updated us on this... there would've been even more disappointment if they'd not made us aware of the change at all.

Personally, I still think this is going to look gorgeous! I don't display my Steelbooks open, so the spine doesn't bother me... and when done right, spot gloss can look really classy. In fact, some of my favourite Steels are spot gloss (HMV's Thor and Drive come to mind).

First of all we were told 'gloss' and it was £19.99 (Happy days!), then it went up to £21.99 and we are now told only spot gloss.

They should revert it back to the original price of £19.99 then.

Why is this particular Steelbook so expensive? It's working out at almost €30 and the design is boring IMO. It's not exactly critically acclaimed either!

I think Scarlett is taking over from Tom Cruise for having her mug plastered over everything!!

The price is £20 = $32 the same Asian retailers charge excluding postage. Oblivion and Battleship were expensive for a long time and they are now in the bargain bin. So patience is virtue.

Oblivion and Battleship had a worldwide release with tens of thousands of copies. This is WEA. Big difference. I don't think this will be in stock too long after it releases. Those eyes are amazing.

Yup that is it - the eyes don't line up for the front and back artwork. That is really too bad as it was a very nice concept for the artwork.

hmmmm want this film got on pre-order atm for £19.99 but thinking of cancelling as not out till 12th jan and thinking this one will come down in price as been available since 12 sept and not sold out and looking at whats gone on of late prices dropping like they have this year with steels, thinking this may be the smart move.

I'd be inclined to agree with you (although I got 20% off mine on cybermonday!)

Also it's being released in numerous countries so can't see this one selling out.

It's a marmite film granted, with critics split 50/50ish, but one that made a box office fortune and is one of top 3 highest grossing female fronted action films of all time. Surprised it took this long to sell out to be honest, it has a lot of fans. [emoji2]
