Not a bad looking steelbook (or at least the front anyway), but the trailers did nothing for me, and most reviews so far have pretty much said the film is rubbish... not that I usually take too much notice of reviews, but the odds aren't good, and I'm not willing to blind-buy at that price. It's a pass for me.

Reviews are 50/50! Quite a few have commented that while not brilliant is great visually and Jolie is superb.

Watched it earlier, I'd agree with that, it's visually superb and Jolie keeps it moving along. Not brilliant but on a par with the likes of Hansel and Gretel and Snow white and The Huntsman. A decent guilty pleasure and Jolie doesn't let her fans down. :D

Geez, I just can't bring myself to drop this much on a steelbook when I have no idea what other editions are out. I would only expect this kind of money on one with a bunch of bells and whistles.

Yeah, the only positives I got from the reviews I've read is that Jolie is apparently great in it... shame I've never been a fan of hers. The fact that you compared it to Hansel & Gretal and Snow White confirms that I probably won't like it though.

Glad you enjoyed it anyway. Thanks for your feedback mate.

Not true, unfortunately. While UK is exempt from this due to an agreement between Channel Islands and UK, every other EU country still has to pay import tax on items with value of 22 EUR or higher. Not every package gets hit though, so if you're lucky you might never have to actually pay.

Half wrong, if the transaction is between EU countries you have to pay the right VAT other than that there are no other fee or cost. (if reseller handles more than a certain amount of sales every year he has to charge the right amount of VAT).

If I order something from Amazon the price automatically gets a little higher when im at checkout, thats because Swedish VAT is higher than the UK's. (zavvi doesnt do that though)

Swedish Customs:

So correct should be no extra cost (other than the correct VAT) between the European Union, not just Europe.

Ordered, but can someone please explain why Amazon UK and base.com deduct VAT from the product price when shipping internationally, but not Zavvi?

This has been an ongoing trend in the UK. Steels are always announced even before some movies hit the theatres. You can always pre order and if you find a version that is more to your liking cancel. I am sure more will be announced in the coming months. This way if it turns out to be something special you are covered. I believe you should always take into account Zavvi charge about a week before release.

Back to the steel, I absolutely love the flowers blooming on her chest. The purple, green pink..... work well with the predominant black and white colors. I hope the slip will highlight these rather than have a boring blank canvas with title as seen in some of the other exclusives

Also why does the cover remind me of the black swan ;)
