Exactly. I already own the films individually, but there's just TOO many awesome extras in this set to turn it down when you're an Avenger fan.

I think I read in the thread that one person who saw it at Comic Con said it was metal. So nothing is 100% confirmed

If they could make the french Inception case in metal I don't understand why this doesn't could be metal too.

Like laffe said, if you buy in bulk from China it won't cost that much.

I wish Marvel would confirm it was metal or not, it kind of looks like it could be metal. Another theory would be that this is just the proof of concept case and the final product will be different.

I have to agree that production cost is not a factor (it's dirt cheap to produce these cookie cutter molded cases en masse). They honestly could have released a nice metal case, even at $150, people that are fans of this set of characters/brand would have loved to own it. Quality over shinziness, please....sometimes the studios think they can throw whatever at fans (has happened since the beginning of home video), and there will be enough suckers to buy it. There are dozens of gorgeous high quality collector sets out there-sorry, but they didn't put enough effort into the packaging with this one, it seems...at least not based on the info available at this moment. Hopefully that changes before release....
