“Mastered in 4K” Blu-ray releases will feature titles—such as The Amazing Spider-Man™, Total Recall, The Karate Kid, Battle: Los Angeles and The Other Guys—sourced from pristine 4K masters and presented at high-bitrate 1080p resolution, with expanded color showcasing more of the wide range of rich color contained in the original source. When upscaled via the Sony 4K Ultra HD TVs, these discs serve as an ideal way for consumers to experience near-4K picture quality. SPHE also plans to utilize available high quality 4K masters for select upcoming new release Blu-ray titles. “Mastered in 4K” Blu-ray Discs can be played on all existing Blu-ray Disc players.

idk that's a good question ... cause it says mastered in 4k but presented in 1080p. Sounds like the superbit dvds lol. My guess is, if you noticed how awesome the quality is always on blu-ray digibooks from warner ... its like perfect transfers.... my guess is it will feel comparable. Obviously it should be better if mastered in 4k ... but I'll def pick up a title here in a few months and find out.

I'm not quite understanding..Are these actual 4k discs??..If so, most blu ray players will take forever,if at all, to upload the content for playback..I also don't think we will see much of a difference, on a 1080p tv...
Either way, I'm sure I will still buy them and check them out ;)

Yeah. Definitely sounds like superbit blu ray. Another way to take money off the consumer. And we'll all go for it :hilarious:

To make these 4k superbit titles stand out, they'll have to make new releases on normal blu look sub par. Add some filtering to take out detail in the picture.

Only thing this means "possibly" is better quality, which is good. But don't forget it's 4K on 1080p! :hilarious: Which is under 2K leaving 2020K's out the experience. This is Superbit all over again. So remember whether 8K, 4K or even 2K its still be viewed on 1080period :BS:

Oops!
:emb: Just saw Wreck talked about this earlier, great minds think alike :notworthy:

ive seen the 'mastered in 4k' or 'from 4k masters' for a while now (sure the bond titles had reference to 4k masters)
it doesnt bother me too much tho, i dont see me ever having a tv big enough to make use of 4k.
