surprised these are so popular given the german text on the cover - quite like the Marvel ones, but just TOO much coming out right now!

I think those bugged by languages other than English are letting this pass-either because they seem so 'cool', or because the German writing is 'small', and titles in English. Some other Steels have huge titles in another language which may turn some off. Just a guess...

I've read (on a German BD forum) these are 12.90 euros in some places, any confirmation of this?

Goingt to pass on these releases, not really digging the covers. I have 7 steel that were originally released from these movie, Im not double dipping or triple dipping on these. To the people that get them, enjoy them!!!!!

Robert why this pic has two hulks?? Thanks...

One is the Ang Lee "Hulk" movie, the other is the Edward Norton "Incredible Hulk" movie. Confusingly similar, but in fact different movies. The Ang Lee one is available in a German steelbook. The other apparently is not (picture is of UK slipcover I believe).

Well i've answered my own question, my last link has been edited, but these ARE 12.90 euros, although maybe not everywhere in Germany (pic attached)

Manut-just for clarification-like many forums we ask that our members do not "link" to other forums. Feel free to abbreviate forums like this-AVS, BD, HDD, Blu-Raydisc Germany, etc.

Media Markt often has different prices depending on where they are located-I am not sure if that is the case here, as I've not had a chance to check with family. But the same is generally true for Saturn, and other German retailers (and for that matter Canada and other retailers, too, especially when it comes to 'markdowns').

So feel free to double check with the person helping you to get these (if outside of EU), or call different stores (if in EU).

Thanks everyone for sharing info with each other! :scat:

Oh Yeah, I'm not disputing the price, I'm just quoting what was posted in here already.

Sorry, i didn't see your message before, i found it myself and attached the pic.

No probs digitalbabe, i wonder if anyone knows which stores are doing them for 12.90 euros?

Well i would definitly ask your contact to get you those, and make sure he does not charge you 13 Euros. Im asking 15 becasue today i paid 14,90 so evidently this is not nationwide.

Take care
John

Just for an example you can look at the posted Thumbnails , there is your proof that it is not nationwide.

Other then that my best bet would be call around , drive 100 kilometers and hit that store which is pricing them at 12,90 Euro. Hell i might even try doing that - darn i forgot the gas price just went up again....--thats my offtopic and insider

Take care

Hey John

I didn't see your GB or read most of this thread that previously discussed this to be honest, i was coming off another forum where i read it and was just seeking confirmation.

Nothing was directed at you my friend.

As i said in my previous post, this does not appear to be nationwide, some prices are coming up at 12.90 euros, others are 14.90 euros, but they are all the same chain, which is weird you have to agree. I think digitalbabe alluded to the difference in Saturn pricing earlier.

Its like half the HMV uk stores selling something, save for clearance items, for £10 and other stores selling the same thing for £13. Of course, i would prefer the ones for £10, who wouldn't?

But for information purposes here, there may be some German people who are local to the stores selling for 12.90 euros, so good to post here.

Hi All-just to add to present discussion-the fact of the matter is retail chains in different countries have completely different policies, even among their own stores. Price differences among different stores in the same chain, not just in Germany, but all over the world, are common. For years,I myself have heard, and seen proof on receipts, and from family members and friends that live in various areas, that this in fact occurs all of the time. As a matter of fact, there is well documented proof of chains that have come under fire for doing so-even sending different ads to different people in different postal codes. Within one state in the US,for instance, you can find tremendous price differences (New York city, vs a NY suburb), and differences in prices in stores in Europe have been discussed on every forum, I've visited, myself, for years.

Thanks again, everyone for sharing info with each other! With the amount of info swirling around the net (not just in regards to Steelbooks, but in general), it is natural to want to seek confirmation and contribute.

Thank you to Masterblaster for offering his time to obtain the items for members at a fair price, for this particular group buy, and any members who are willing daily,to help others on a big or small scale, 'behind the scenes'. As we've all seen, a variety of factors cause SB's to rise in price (sometimes exponentially) over time. Good luck to everyone who asked for them from MB-I hope you enjoy them, once on the shelf!:)
