Hi guys, where can i find the converting jumbos into slimlines thread linked in the opening post?

I need to know how to do the spine and the best paper to print the spine and inside art on to? I dont have access to a good printer unfortunately. With 42 pages to read it may get difficult to keep track!

Any helps guys? :D What dimensions do the outside of the spine need to be when printing? And how do i attach the print out out for inside and outer artwork on the spine? Glue? Any help appreciated!

Someone clever please help!!

For attaching, I like to use thin double-sided tape...its easier to handle than glue is. As far as dimensions, you could probably just measure one and go from there. I've printed my spines on just normal photo paper. Seems to look and work fine.

Something like this:http://www.amazon.com/Scor-SP202-Scor-Tape-27yds-Rolls/dp/B00GKTALX6/ref=sr_1_8?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1386633919&sr=1-8&keywords=double+sided+tape+1%2F4

Thanks - makes sense i guess!

So for the spine would you remove the metal spine already on there, stick the tape on the spine and put the interior artwork spine on, then put sticky tape on top of that and then apply the outside spine art?

Maybe i should have just kept the jumbo :hilarious:

Yes exactly it. But I use goo gone and remove the residue from the plastic shell before I apply the tape. It is a bit of work, but I quite like the results.

Here are mine I did:https://www.hidefninja.com/forums/showthread.php?p=783169#post783169

Goddammit i was nearly there!

Had everything set up, used the glue on the spine for the inside and it lined up - used the stix2 tape as recommended by blu-devil on top then put the outer spine on and.......the guillotine id used had made a hash of it so the white from the back of the inner art spine could be seen

So the last question (I PROMISE) is how do you guys cut the spine so its perfect?

Nearly there guys, nearly there!

I cut the components first using a ruler and an exacto knife. Even if it is not 100% if you are a bit off no one will notice

+1 ;)

Haven't been on here in a while but I've had a few bumper boxes turn up this week so here goes :D
(Nightmare on Elm Street should be here but I stuck the art upside down so will have to wait!! :hilarious:)

I paint the back on the paper with black pen, so if you do make it so you can see the paper its the same as the spine (only works if the spine is black) other then that i put it on the spine and then cut it till you can not see it but this can some times take the paint of the spine.

You want more gloss finish on steelbook ?
get a Zero-finish steelbook (Looper, Prometheus....) and a polishing machine with polish and go !

I tried this afternoon on my ugly From Dusk till Dawn steelbook France, and in hand the result is awesome ! (not very impressive on picture, but try it :) )

No polish :

I don't understand, where is the Polish guy?

Or is the steel without the Polish language and then with the Polish language? :D
