Did anyone else notice the Zavvi email sent out for this says "VERY LIMITED print run"? What does that even mean?

very easy...
"VERY limited" means more limited than just "limited"
and less limited than "ultra limited" :D

coming up next:
"MEGA limited" print run
"GIGA limited" print run
and "VERY ULTRA" limited print run

Zavvi actually thought about adding actual numbers for each print run but tossed the idea because it would have been way too obvious... ;)

I don't think the print runs have ever been specified on any releases.

most of the "ultra limited" print runs did have actual numbers added like the Star Trek and Pain & Gain 1000 print runs + the 2000/2500 Warner print runs (Vendetta/Beetlejuice/Mars attacks)

usually zavvi servers are a few minutes late for me, but today when i was surfing zavvi.nl this afternoon mulan was live for me already at 5:52 uk time.
10 minutes before anyone posted it here. quite surprising...

anyway, ordered! ;-)

"Mega Limited"...you'll lose about 25% of your money invested in this
"Giga Limited"...you might break even (if it does not have a spine slash)
"Ultra Limited"...if you are in the lucky 70% who got a mint copy, hang on to it for 3-4 years, then you might make a 50% profit...if a new format (4K) has not arrived...in that case...this steelbook will then be worth a fiver, at best.

:D

no, not true. i always have to wait until 5 minutes past to see the pre-order button. different regions, different servers.

do you only think in re-sale value?

Phase three of the Zavvi 'how to confuse the customer' programme

Is the introduction of :

Very Mega

Very Giga

Very Very Ultra

This will go on ad infinitum until we reach the zenith:

The Very Very Ultra Mega Very Super Giga Very Very Super Ultra Limited Edition

This will compromise ten copies sold under the counter in brown paper bags, knock three times and ask for Sadie . . . .

;) ;)

?

well.. they´re always a few minutes early for me..
someone also suggested it might be a browser issue if you´ll have to wait longer thnaothers... with your browser loading a version from cache..

I'm glad to see so many Disney classics getting the steelbook treatment. I would love to see some of the minor classics get the treatment as well and some of the move famous live action ones like "20 Thousand Leagues under the sea" and "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and please Darby O'Gill and the Little People.........

Not at all...I just just having a giggle at those who are obsessed with how "limited" some of these new release steelbooks are, and what the may be worth in the future.
If it was up to me I wouldn't make them limited at all so we could all get a copy and I have zero interest in what they may be worth later on as I have no plans to sell my collection.

I think what is going on is that a lot of people are being forced to buy simply because they are limited. A normal release you can budget and go "I'll get that next month or a few months down the line" but here as in all limited editions you are having to spend money you maybe would wish to spend elsewhere....... And then there is the issue, "Shall I take a chance and hope this doesn't sell out" and end up being even more out of pocket months down the line by having to get the item on ebay.
