Eureka! Entertainment and The Masters of Cinema Series are delighted to announce the Halloween 2013 theatrical and home video releases of an eagerly awaited new restoration of F. W. Murnau's legendary silent cinema horror classic Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922), expertly restored in Germany by the world-renowned Friedrich-Wilhelm-Murnau-Stiftung (FWMS).

This revival of a horror classic, one of the most famous of all silent films, follows Eureka! Entertainment's hugely successful restoration showcases of Fritz Lang's Metropolis (1927) in 2010 and Carl Theodor Dreyer's The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928) in 2012.

Nosferatu's UK theatrical run will be co-ordinated by Eureka! Entertainment and will open in selected cinemas nationwide on Friday October 25, 2013, just in time for Halloween. Blu-ray and DVD releases will follow with a raft of special features to be announced nearer the release date, as part of Eureka! Entertainment's award-winning The Masters of Cinema Series.

Steelbook confirmed via Twitter:
We're thrilled to announce that F. W. Murnau's masterpiece NOSFERATU will see a Halloween 2013 theatrical release, followed by MoC Blu-ray, in a new restoration. The Blu-ray and DVD will follow in November with new special features, and will be available in a SteelBook edition.

This is a must own. I'm still hoping for a region free release. If not, I might finally have to get one of em region free players.EEK!

Anything that's distributed by Kino in the US will be region locked I'm afraid. Kino as the biggest licensee gets to pull the strings. Back in 2010, Metropolis was going to be a region free release, the German licensors and others were alright with it, but not Kino, so everybody ended up locking their releases.

I see. Thanks for the info...:(

They haven't added it to their shop yet, but it's likely to be £16.99 direct from Eureka/MOC.

...or wait some months and buy it from 3rd party seller on amazon uk called "bestmediagroup" which is supposed to be same as the eureka store. especially the last wave of masters of cinema steelbooks were/are available from them for 11.99 / 12.99 gbp soon after release.

Can't wait. The DVD looked great so blu ray will be outstanding. Hope it retains the standard art for the steel.

And to see it on the big screen first! wow.

This could be my new favourite steelbook if it has that artwork. Nearly all MOC steels use the same art as the amaray so I'm hopeful. in any case, I've got a pile of Amazon vouchers ready to chuck at this.

I will support the restoration of these classic films from the early days of film. Looking forward to see how good they can make it look on blu.

Perfect. I always loved that art but was worried that, having been used on the standard dvd and blu ray, iy may not have been special enough for the steel. But it's clearly the best choice.

At least it has dropped to £22.99 from £29.99 at Zavvi.

EDIT: now £19.99 at Zavvi
