- The steelbook illustration is by Krzysztof Domaradzki.
- The artwork for the slipbox was used previously for the Oldboy vinyl LP. It was co-ordinated by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, and illustrated by Laurent Durieux. The director of Oldboy Park Chan-wook wanted one of our editions to feature this artwork so we reached out to Milan Records and illustrator Laurent Durieux. You'll be able to see more of the artwork since parts of the top and bottom were cropped out for the vinyl LP.

With a print run this big I doubt anyone will have any issues ordering direct.
Even hours maybe even days after pre order date
Not true. Print run of ZDT was almost the same and alot of people had troubles ordering it and i was left with nothing in the end. Demand of this title will be significantly higher than ZDT cause this is PlainArchive's creme da le creme release.

Its gonna be a bloodbath.

Thanks for the tag @harry :thumbs::thumbs:

I'm not excited for all three of them. I remember PA said at one point they got 5-6 graphic designers all over the world working on Oldboy.
And these three are creative wise the best they could come up with? The first is the Durieux Print just copied that Park Chan-wook wished to be used.
The purple one looks good but is creative wise nothing really special. And the third one could also be done by any other retailer. Looks like something from Fortune Star.
And super boring calligraphy on all titles.
I don't know. Maybe my expectation for PA is just too high because of some previous releases..

I'm really hoping they release a 1/4 slip version. I have all the other 1/4 slip releases and would like to continue my collection. I do like the purple version the best!:)

Me too. The Master 1/4 slip is next to Melancholia my favorite PA release of all time. Perfection.

But the ZDT full slip (or "paper slip" as it was titled on PA's website) was still in stock many months after release. Only just recently sold out I believe.

Remind me again, the 3rd disc is only available with the steel version is that right?

Honestly none of these live up to the hype in my book. I'm sure they'll be 예뻐요 in hand, but this is part of the problem with huge waiting times and the promise of a company like PA taking on movie like OldBoy. Expectations are sky high and can't be met. I'm strongly considering just grabbing the Scanavo/Slip unless I can only get disc 3 with a steel.

This is some of the blandest design work I've ever seen from PA, and it's got nothing to do with the hype or the wait. These designs are simply not very creative. On the bright side, now I only feel compelled to own one rather than all of them. Not sure which is the lesser of the three evils. Probably the purple slip, since it complements the steelbook much more than the other two.

I'm not sure, the print run is huge.
Plus they still have the master, tinker tailor in stock.
Ok so those may not be as iconic and wanted as this but I think on the day, the majority will get the editons they want

ZDT was more mainstream film a box office hit and sold out fast because of the demand for a film of that type

Oldboy will sell out but it won't be as fast as ZDT one click or pet slip these sold out in seconds
I don't expect any issues will happen trying to order this on the pre order day it might even be available for a few days

I can't decide between the second & third ones. I dig the purple, but feel there's more to the third one.

In regards to the print run, I think its purposely huge (6,000, presumably spread evenly among the 3 editions) because Plain know this is such a popular title, this ensures that most if not all who really want a copy will get one.

Many great performers throughout history have sometimes faltered during their most important task, whether it be in sports, politics, entertainment, etc. Looks like this may be Plain Archive's moment. They are still great, though.

Never liked that artwork on the vinyl, and still don't like it as a full slip.

The photo slip on the right is a little "meh" and boring.

I'd be totally down for the purple, if it were a PET slip. Might only get that one.
