- The steelbook illustration is by Krzysztof Domaradzki.
- The artwork for the slipbox was used previously for the Oldboy vinyl LP. It was co-ordinated by Nicolas Winding Refn, the director of Drive, and illustrated by Laurent Durieux. The director of Oldboy Park Chan-wook wanted one of our editions to feature this artwork so we reached out to Milan Records and illustrator Laurent Durieux. You'll be able to see more of the artwork since parts of the top and bottom were cropped out for the vinyl LP.

Manta, hdzeta and even blufans have better slips than PA now and I'm usually all over all PA releases. The slip doesn't compare to the quality of their previous works.

Never thought I'd see the day that blufans had better quality slips than Plain. Hope I'm happy with my type B that's on it's way
I think the side loading kimchidvd releases are very hard to beat

I went for the keepcase edition and have to agree, the slip is fine, pretty darn good actually.... But certainly lacks the pizazz of previous releases. Blufans full slips have blown PA out the water lately.

Maybe as a very small company they're overstretching themselves a little?

Mine landed in Heathrow today also.

How are you guys in the UK tracking it? I've tried the link in the actual email, which only shows it's progress for Korea, and also through the Royal Mail site, which says there's no info available (same with Parcel Force).

finally got my one click

the 1/4 slip is a HUGE dissapointment. the steelbook finish and colours look supercheap and washed out. from a far it looks ok but ok close it looks really bad. also the full size booklet is attached to the back of the steelbook.

the best version now that i have them all in hand is the purple. very vibrant and has this nice sheen to it under the light.

I might have been a little harsh. My steel collecting has dropped alot recently so I only go after a select few. So I expect them to be very good (at $50, this isn't sadly). Blufans recent/improved slips are what I'm referring to.

I don't know if it's because PA goes with 5k print runs and it costs too much money to make them better or what. But I compared melancolia to this slip and you go...what happened. Old boy slip isn't bad by any means. It just isn't special.

I think to be fair Melancholia was a one off. It's probably the best slip Plain have ever done. I think with Oldboy it's been a long time coming so people are expecting a lot. I haven't got mine in hand so can't comment but they look nice enough from the pics.

I think some are being to harsh and maybe are commenting on unopened copies. Once opened I think it looks absolutely brilliant (type B). Vibrant and glossy slip, the steelbook is a winner imo and the other extras are very well done. The booklet is very good.
And I still haven't watched the disc and the discs with all the extras, which imo is the most important bit on this release.

Have you opened up a copy Jez?

I opened mine and whilst I don't like the imagery used the finish is really rather good and there's a lot of depth to the colours when you inspect closely.

Looking forward to seeing the transfer (which is why I bought it).

I watched the movie for the first time last night. Transfer seems good to me. Plan to watch some of the extras in the coming days, it was an interesting movie.. I really like I saw the devil more I think

On the Royal Mail site mine was saying the same but below that there should be a "where has my item been?" Button. If you click on that it should tell you or use this site https://www.aftership.com/courier

Appreciate the info mate. I remember someone telling me to click on the "where has my item been?" button once before when I was unable to track another order... I didn't see it then and I still can't see it now. That link you posted just shows me the exact same info as the tracking in my dispatch email. Guess I'll just have to wait and hope it turns up!

Does it not mention arrival at GBLALA?

The peeps who had that from the 14th seem to get delivery the next day so hopefully yours turns up soon

One thing I'll say about the slip that some are not happy with is its not the same material PA usually use but it does have a gloss finish with a kind of metalic look. Looks good
