The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

If any steelbook is to be etched with a number then it should be on a limited run such as Pain & Gain.
At least that would differentiate it from other countries releasing this with the same art.

Fully agree. Even a sticker would be better than nothing.

How much do we reckon it will cost? With such a limited run expect this will cost somewhere in the region of £26.99.

will be £23.99 as the link shows. from my experience, if the zavvi listing says save £x then the price is correct. the site says originally £29.99 save £6. so i'm pretty sure £23.99 is the price.

Im about as excited about this 1000 print run as i was about es jack reacher 2x500 print run and es hansel and gretels 1000 print run, i do have the italian Django 1000 print run but only coz i got it off ebay for £17. If the art isnt exclusive then whats the point.

Lol I never thought to click on the link as it usually states the price next to it. Ok so not too bad for a limited run. Would make it sweeter if it was numbered though.

I would hate this to be numbered.
If you end up with number 0856/1000, then there's at least 857 people that's got a better copy than you. Or you could get a good number that's badly damaged which is a waste and annoying.
I would much prefer not to take a chance and everyone be equal. Plus for everyone wanting "clean" steelbooks, you don't mind numbers printed on it?!
Everyone wants as much proof that it's limited as possible, I just buy them because I like the movie and hopefully artwork.
Zavvi will sell 1,000 copies of almost any new film (except maybe Planes) so they don't really need another incentive for people to buy it.
And if the Czech art is official, I would happily have the same artwork. I don't want worse artwork just so it will be more exclusive.
If anything being numbered has stopped me buying World War Z because I would prefer to pay a little more and get a good number on ebay, or you could probably get a crap number for a fair bit less, because most will just go for the good numbers.
I'm not looking for an argument just want to express a different opinion before every steelbook ends up being numbered.

I would like them to do something to differentiate their release from other countries. One way is laser etching, another is a simple sticker. I don't really care that much about a specific number but that's just me.

i just watched it, i was not so eager to do it but since there was coming to steel i gave it a try!fun watch for this one time only, not intentions to do it again so i will let it go!

direct quote from Zavvi, hope this helps those that are interested.

I hope they learn from this.

4000 copies weeks to sell out if at all
1000 copies 2 days at best.

My guess is they will release 4 x as many steelbooks at 1000 copies each. It makes business sense.

If you think they've released some crud steels lately you watch what happens now.

I'm more than happy to buy crud. Just as long as it's 1000 only.

Btw I'm on a calorie controlled diet.

meeeeehhhh. The artwork with the American Flag or anything more colourful would be much better. And what's with the back? I can't remember that woman being in the movie
