The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

I'm more inclined to think it was the HDN Team working with Zavvi who had more influence on this situation.

I'm puzzled as to why Zavvi state in their T&Cs no more than 5, yet they do not enforce this via coding on their order page. As mentioned above, either enforce the rule, or don't have it.

Those people who had their orders cancelled - was the entire order cancelled ? Or down to 5, or down to 1 ? Were they even informed, or is there a potential that some people don't know their orders have been cancelled ?

By not enforcing their own T&Cs this has been a situation entirely of Zavvi's making. Kudos to them (and HDN) for resolving it, however I firmly believe it could have been avoided in the first place.

(Mods : If need be, please move this post to the reseller thread)

I think it rings true with many companies ... that the people who order product aren't the ones doing the web coding etc. So they might be able to have the pull to instruct such canceling but they arent the ones doing the physical canceling process themself usually. In addition they aren't the ones doing the coding for the site ... so unfortunately things that seem simple like just limiting ordering via product page isn't in their control.

Plus while it may seem like its a "need" in regards to steelbooks ... I'm sure they dont care if a customer orders 100 T-shirts ... thus coding the infrastructure to be product page specific is a custom add-on completely or plugin for the CMS as opposed to just doing it "sitewide" where the option might be there, but impossible to implement without causing other site wide conflicts.

I guess I'm the only one thinking this is going back up for pre order. No worries here. Just an old gimmick... Make it available for a few minutes, then mark it as sold out... Create panic, hysteria, buzz, etc...put it back up, then all hell breaks loose and gets everybody rushing to place an order. Works every time like a charm

I think there would be just a dozen people who ordered more than 5. That means only dozen copies were canceled and put back on sale which isn't that too much but I believe every little helps. I hope those who suffered the pain were able to gain today.:hilarious:

& the people who tried to Gain to much, today felt the most Pain :hilarious: Or

More people have Gained through certain individuals pain ;)

I think I'd better stop lol

I still say a lot of people have been trigger happy with the pre order button. Once the heat dies off and they realise they don't really need more than one or can't afford the extra copies etc, I would fully expect a good few to be back up for order around or just before release date. It's not a bad looking steelbook but it's not awesome, same goes for the movie itself, so if any ninjas/zombies have missed out again watch out around this time as it will definitely be back up.

100%, good advice.

I have a big announcement for HDN members. Zavvi has heard the number of upset collectors here.

1) a number of "bulk orders" will be cancelled
2) we will announce on this thread when the listing goes live again.

Now go ahead and spread the word. Tell all your friends that missed out.

And finally...

Lets keep it positive folks. ;)

Thanks

The cancellation of bulk orders helps the little guy, who is more likely to be a collector!

Well done Zavvi!.:scat:
