The disc will be the same as the new US Special Edition

Here's something that's made me very happy. From the PR company -

Hi Matt,

I hope you are well, please find attached the press release for Pain & Gain. I am pleased to confirm that the UK release will feature the same extras as the US special edition release.

Kind Regards

Kerry

Latest update from Zavvi
Still waiting on finalised artwork.

The finishes are overall matte varnish, except for a spot UV gloss on Mark and Dwayne on the front cover.

There’s a pantone red on their names on the front cover, and emboss on the title treatment.

Confirmed as 1000 units only and from the traffic and questions we are getting, think this will only last a couple of days at the most before selling out.

I don't like the look of this steel and I'm not really interested in the movie but it is extremely annoying when people order in bulk and spoil it for somebody who just wants a copy to enjoy and add to their collection.

The aura around this steel has been massive, this could be the most collectable steel this year, sold out twice in an hour and a half. There doesn't seem to be many other countries releasing it, as the UK is normally one of the last to list pre-orders compared to the ze german's and the czech's, plus it has already been released on Blu-ray in the US, so it doesn't look like there doing a steel either.

Folks, if you can't use the proper language, and if you can't refrain from calling people names in this thread, then don't post here.

The deletions shall continue until morale improves...

Do we know roughly how many copies came back into stock today?

And was it exclusively just for HDN members? I read that some people trying to get a copy by using their PC say it was showing up as 'sold out' all the time?

I believe it was around 200 - 300, hard to say for certain, you know.

It was for everybody, not just HDN.

If it showed as "sold out" that's because you were loading a cached version of the page.

HDN Pro Tip - clear your cache before ordering the next hot steelbook release. ;)

no not just for hdn members

a lot of people had trouble trying to get it to show as live, people had to change broswers, clear caches etc and some used their mobiles

I havent read through all the posts so if someone already answered then I apologize but what does it mean 3000 to other countries? So are there 4000 total copies made or what? Im a bit confused on that.

Thanks

Paramount likes to use the same art everywhere, so think of it like Jack Reacher. Print run could be huge, but on the other hand, they could have split the other 3K with Germany and called it good.

Depends.

But in order to do any steelbook run, you need 4,000 copies of a SINGULAR design.

If thats the case, how do blufans or kimchi get round it?

BluFans works in China. If you want to fly over to China and do business there, steelbook will be more than happy to talk with you about 500 copies of anything you want.

But then again, try to import that in the UK and you'll see Paramount UK on your behind for creating an unathorized edition. ;)

Rules are different for different countries, just the way it works.

Heck, you can still buy Viva Metal Boxes in China! :hilarious:

They bin the rest and charge you triple the price :D

:hilarious:

Just fyi, in order to secure a smaller amount of steelbooks in any country, whether it's a split run or a tiny run (like in China), there is a higher starting price.

Buy more, pay less per unit.

Not defending anyone's pricing strategy, just saying that's how it works.
