However, since the 'metal' terms are used interchangeably sometimes, and until we actually see listings, we'll leave the "?" in the title just in case. We can always update later-for now the prospects for many Steelbook fans I worth the chat

yeah no worries DB just alot of releases lately have said steelbook and then been released viva or metal packs in Aus. thats all i was getting at before people get to excited.

Not sure about this as a basis. Metal packs released in Australia: Avengers (Lionsgate), Tron (Disney), Senna (Universal), Sherlock (Warner), Avatar (20th Century), First Class (Warner), Narnia (Disney), District 9 (Sony), New Moon (Sony), Pothead (Warner).

Other than Universal who have released all the different types of steels in AU: metal packs, steelbooks (Robin Hood) and steelcases (Gladiator, Basterds, Fast & Furious 1-4, 4, 5, Paul, Apocalypse Now, Scarface, Smokin Aces, T2), the other studios (Disney, Warner, 20th Century, Lionsgate, Sony, Paramount) have, from memory, stuck to only one type of steel in AU --- Paramount having used Scanovo's Steelbook for Ghost Protocol.

I think we are not keeping in mind that these releases are for the locals only. Studios are not thinking of importers, this is being released to give the opportunity to the locals to obtain a copy. Most of the studios releases are for their local markets and are not considering anyone outside of that market

So when some folks say "the studio is not thinking about us collectors" of course they are not, because the original release was in CANADA not in AUSTRALIA. Those are two different markets. Importing is not their main focus. We can sit here and argue about it, we'll probably end up in the same boat .
