I remember the first time I watched this I had no idea it was related to the Alien franchise. So I thought the movie was pretty cool, having said that it was a surprise when I saw that alien baby burst that it finally clicked it was correlated and had a wtf moment.
I knew the movie had Alien vibes throughout.

I think a lot more people would appreciate this movie more if they did the same thing. In my case I read something about it being in the same Alien "universe" but not to expect an Alien film as such, so I had an open mind and enjoyed it quite a lot. It's still a sci-fi horror but it's much more about the perils of human thirst for discovery than a straight up monster movie.

Yeah I enjoyed Prometheus and Covenant.

I go in to all these type of films with a completely open mind and take them for what they are. Usually leaves me happier than those that go in expectant on another classic.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love for all films to be as good as Alien/s but it's never going to happen.

I can though understand why some may not like either of the 2 prequel films

You need to watch these films by not comparing it to Alien and Aliens to enjoy them better
