Just got this email update from Play:

Me too, and for once Im happy with the delay, September is already expensive and all the Oct 1st releases with it being a Monday are also due to be dispatched the last week of September too so even more expense! so one less thing to pay for that week gets the thumbs up from me!

@BigRob - i've only just noticed they've used a different font. Now that I have, I'm with you in that they should of stuck with the original. Especially seen as it was so prominent in the marketing etc

I watched it yesterday in the cinema and I was a little bit disappointed from the movie... I was expecting more...

Great atmosphere, for sure but I was missing something...

Movie-censorship have got confirmed reports that the current Bluray of Prometheus will NOT contain an extended cut as previously discussed.

Still trying to find confirmation of this

Not surprising really, that'll come out with the 'Directors Special Edition' next year :naughty:

I too was a little disappointed in this film. Think bringing the 'lost' writer onboard brought too many unanswerable questions and stopped the film from tying together nicely. It was obvious that in the initial script the planet they were on was meant to be that of the one in 'Alien' and that the ship that crashed was also going to be the same one seen in 'Alien' but the 'lost' writer decided to cut off from that. Which I personally thought was a shame as 'shaw' can still leave the planet and give them their sequel. Now they'll have to repeat a spacecraft crashing on LV-426 which will seem repetitive and wasteful. Rant over. Still buy the steelbook though :)

There's meant be a lot of footage with Guy Pearce, so it really is just a matter of time with this one.

The DC may never have a steelbook release.

I plan on buying this steelbook (thanks to Surfury for hosting the GB) as well as the inevitable Director's Cut. I know that it's going to be released. The footage with Guy Pearce will be very interesting...

Edited to add that, if Fox saw fit to release a Director's Cut of Avatar in Steelbook / Metalcase format, hopefully we can get lucky for Prometheus.

I'm loving the Steelbook, but not the price. Does anyone know if the regular 3D release will come with a slipcase? That could be a decent alternative if the price doesn't drop.
