This movie IMO is as good as the hype. Of course it helps that Alien is my favorite movie of all time.

Count me as one. I thought it was a mess. Too much studio interference and almost nothing made sense. They also stripped all the scare factor out of it. Alien is 10x the movie IMO - even with the ropey old effects. Ridley had his hands tied on this one.

I loved all the themes under the hood sort of speak. Even though it was a prequel it wasn't meant to be like Aliens, I think people went in with false expectations. It is very split between the people who like it and the ones that don't.

This movie was a lot different than what I expected but it was still a quality movie. I just hope the second one has a bit more action!

I was very nervous about any sequels but after seeing Prometheus as a blind buy I CAN NOT WAIT. The best film I have seen All year. Just love the film and the steelbook.

yeah I think if you watched this without knowing it had any connection to "Alien", it would be way more enjoyable as it was for myself. I am also anticipating a sequel.

I knew about the connection with Alien that is why I am surprised so much that I found it the better film, as I did not think anything could even get near being as GOOD as Alien.

The Alien Anthology steelbook sits well beside prometheus one .
