When Zavvi ship collectable items that are prone to slight damage, they should be packaged respectively. £19.99 and shipped in cheap packaging, I'm relieved I cancelled this order, but slightly nervous about what my TMNT and Maniac Cop SBs will arrive in. Shouldn't have that concern after paying almost £30.

I received my first zavvi steels today in the new packaging ... and that means all the way to the U-S-A .... I thought mine might have some damage but both steels were perfect.

I was told they had put the new packaging to the test ... so I would like to think that if it survived that journey then it may be no diff then the white boxes. I mean nothing will ever be as good as the white boxes Play used back in the day. Loved those. But I guess the question is if it were slammed down in the white box vs. this brown sleeve would it really matter? Would one dent and not the other? idk ... I think it all just depends on mail carriers at this point cause I had damages in white boxes before too.

In the end if the white boxes are superior then their damage/return rates will increase. I do for a fact know they are monitoring that. fyi

now back on topic ... this is an AMAZING steelbook. Loving the green and loving that Zavvi Disney have got it 100% right including the paper 1/4 slip. Keep it up!

Wreck, the problem with the card mailers is the lack of corner protection, and the lack of padding inside.

What we need is a reversal to the white boxes of old with proper foam padding to stop them moving round in transit, and offer some real protection if they are dropped.

If Zavvi can see their way clear to doing that, then they will get fewer returns, and in turn will have to send fewer back themselves as 'received damaged' - as I am certain they DO.

As for the Steel in question, I think I forgot to say how brilliant that green is - the pics don't do it justice.

I received this and Alice today in the brown mailers in mint condition.
They both look great with their gloss finishes, though I think Robin Hood edges out as the better of the two with the larger and more vibrant art.

Not happy!! After getting a mate to take a pic, Zavvi are refusing to refund my steelbook. They will only offer a 10% reduction on my steel... even though it's a disgrace. As a collector, it doesn't always come down to money... I just want a blemish, dent free steelbook!

Moved a few posts to the Zavvi retailer thread here. You can discuss issues with Zavvi there. We need up try and keep this thread on topic. Thanks guys.

Echoing what has already been said, arrived it crappy envelope but amazingly no damage. It's going to happen sooner or later if they keep this up, I am just really glad it wasn't this that got damaged as it is one of my all time favourites and a stunning steel to boot.

Ditto, despite the cardboard mailer itself having taken a bit of a battering. Also, my postie seems to like ramming stuff through my letter box as hard as possible, as though he is trying to see how far he can get it in to my hallway! Could become an Olympic sport soon!

Have noticed a couple of very minor paint chips on the reverse (under the j-card), but nothing too serious or worth worrying about...

Bent and scratched due to the ****** envelope. Cancelled all my pre-orders including the Indiana Jones Steels and will send a message to Zavvi I never received it. I'm tired of spending money on sending bent Steelbook back to them. They may reimburse directly this time.

i want to know how they test those card envelopes.. did they put little mermaid steels in them and throw them around the warehouse, stamp on ones with jungle book in them ?

They filled them with a bunch of limited print V for Vendetta's and shipped them out to the paying customers around the world. Thats how they tested

I've still not received this. I got the replacement copy of Alice In Wonderland that I ordered. That has a tiny scratch on the back. Still, it's better than the first one I received. I got all the other steelbooks from this week, so surprised that Robin Hood hasn't turned up. Hopefully tomorrow and hopefully damage free
