My parents had some horrible luck with their plasma tv. They went through 3 sets in about 4 years, thankfully, they bought the extended warranty. After the third set died, they just told the company to keep the damn thing, they're tired of dealing with it, and they got a 55 inch sony led instead.
Sixteen, that stinks-what a horror. I personally prefer Plasmas and we've owned them for 5+ years (Panasonic) without incident. I guess every brand, tech has their lemons!

Theirs was a Philips, i believe. Yeah, every brand has some that are nothing but problems. Their plasma was also one of the first ones that came out, so that could've had alot to do with it. I know the thing was heavy as all hell, easily 150 lbs or more, and it sucked getting it off of the wall when it broke and needed repaired.
