I think all places can produce great steels. Not everyone wants slipcovers and art cards. Sometimes a release just needs good art and the correct finish. I do think that $70 per copy is getting up there though :emb:

Am I in the right forum? Granted, I'm only here since November of last year but I visit almost daily and never have I seen so many complaints about the "high prices". These are extremely limited, premium products - they should command higher prices. There's currently only 2 countries in the whole world producing high-quality steelbooks: China and Czech Republic - there's a price to pay to obtain them outside of those 2 countries.

I have read some rubbish on this forum but this just about takes the biscuit.

I agree @howarmat. I am hoping this steelbook is stunning in hand. I hope it is a very smooth matte with awesome spot gloss. The pics look great, but I'm hoping to be blown away when I open up the lenti. In my opinion Korea sits on top of the steelbook throne. I feel that PA releases are innovative and really cool. They make awesome steelbooks (art wise and knock on wood, no embossing yet!!!). I don't want to sound like a PA or Korean fanboy lol. I collect all kinds of steels and play.com steels are some of my favorite hands down. HDzeta produces quality steelbooks and I can only hope their slips will evolve just like blufans slips have.

I think this is just over the limit for me. £40 is really pushing things but I'll pay that for something I love like The Avengers, but really I don't like going over £35 for an import unless something is out of print. £45 - £50 after shipping and tax is too much for me.

That said, if the Play version of SPR didn't exist, maybe I would have gone for the PET or Ammo Box, as this film is a true classic. But since I have my Play copy, it's not quite tempting enough.

I feel compelled to agree, there continue to be some excellent Uk steelbooks, some from the US, Korea in the form of Plain Archive, Nova and Kimchi - to exclude any of those is to do a severe disservice to all involved in bringing them to the public.
Regarding expense, I will add that anyone who doesn't find $142 (over £93) expensive for a blu ray steelbook with a silly little box pretending be an 'ammo box' is either deluded or completely out of touch with reality!
I'm sorry guys, but they saw you coming, and it needed to be said.

I don't think anyone is saying it's not expensive, but they can still choose to buy it if they want.

We've all probably spent more than we should on shoes, meals, holidays at some point or another and the fact that they are expensive doesn't mean anyone is wrong to buy them or are out of touch with reality for doing so. They get to spend their hard earned on what they like and makes them happy if they feel they can afford it.

I feel it's a bad time of the year to open / invoice a GB...It's coming on the back of Blufans Marvels, NOVA BH6, Kimchi Raids, Blufans GotG and NOVA Avengers...My poor wallet :wow: Something's gotta give :wow:

Agreed! I would have bit at this release, but had too much going on with other recent pre-orders. It just wasn't in the cards, as they say... :greedy:

I can't wait to get my hands on this!

Also, How do I get in on the group buy? Or is it closed already. I just signed up, but I want the Ammo box!

This would have been a much easier decision if its not in the aftermath of BH6-Raids-Avengers preorder aftermath. Plus the remaining Marvel wave 1 BF steelbooks will mostly be invoiced in may. And as they say, something's gotta give. Also didn't help is the weak forex (around $180 Canadian for the ammo box for me :( )

@earthscope PA's releases are just trailblazers! It would be a great disrespect not to mentioned last year's creator of Rush, Drive (both commissioned for Kimchi & Nova respectively & of course King of Steel in 2014, ISTD Red PET w/Director's sticker to boot!

HDzeta along w/BF plus Korea's BIG 3 belongs to Asian Exclusives Royalty.

HOW MMUCH ????

We all have our likes and dislikes . Premium quality comes at a price and it is down to who is happy to pay that price .

IF it had been Shindlers List I may have looked twice .

IF it had have been Pacific Rim then some warning time wise would have been good to get the application for a bank loan in .

As to that little bit of promotional propaganda I DONT THINK SO .

I am HYPED about my Dredd Mondo from Canada .

I AM IN LOVE WITH MY JOHN WICK KOREA

The Dredd Japan AND Neatherlands are up thire too.

Edit I would also add

Zavvi for Who Fraimed Roger Rabbit and The Last Stand .

Entertainment store World War Z .

Little stand out gems in my book .

No denying my Gladiator full slip is Wounderful as is my only Blu Fans Pacific Rim . Late Christmas Present and Birthday present to justify thire expence not just out of the blue .

Limited can become eliteist thirefor selective . To selective limits your market .
