I think it is definitely good decision If the metal card was supposed to look like those "metal" dog tags in FAC BHD . No harm done by this change.

Btw I didn´t know about a zombie lottery, but with my bad luck I definitely won´t be that lucky one :coffee:

Not too fussed about the change I suppose but do we get some kind of refund considering we paid up front for extra metal which is now plastic?

Received the following email from @EverythingBlu...

Blu Box Change of Numbering Card Material

"Hello everyone,

We've continued to try and create the best possible product for our first release. This has resulted in the some changes along the way. The very last change we have had to make is that the umbering card for the Blu Box edition has changed material and now is made from PVC rather than the original metal. This is down to the print application not being up to the standard we wish to put out. We apologise for the late change but we didn't want to drop the metal card so easily and have experimented with a number of applications but unfortunately none were to our satisfaction. The card will now be PVC with embossed text/numbering for a much cleaner print.

On another note, keep an eye on our social media accounts for an update on the Zombie Lottery, with 25 signed cards by the Wilson Bros (Zombie Twins) which we will place randomly into 25 copies PER edition.

Also, news is coming in the next few days about The Mummy release for those who are interested.

Thanks again for your continued support!
Release Date (Shaun of The Dead): 19th May 2017"
I'm not sure if i understand the situation correctly, so correct me if i'm jumping to conclusions.
But shouldn't all this materials be tested and 'up to standard' before going live with preorder? For example, producing one numbering card to test and make sure it can be achieved with said materials? I mean are we at a point where it's 'normal' for retailers to take your money and sort of "go along and see what happens" attitude? "If one design/output fails, we'll just go with another" attitude? Isnt the final product you are all getting different compared to what you ordered/paid for?

Not tryna offend anyone here. Just tryna wrap my head around the whole situation...

As the likelihood of nuclear war increases, steelbook retailers should not take our money up front unless they are ready to ship immediately. What if the retailer's country gets nuked? The other countries will not get their steelbooks. And that would be a damn shame. ;)

Agreed
They should have produced 4 or 5 sample copies of each component to be sure that each component was achievable. This sort of last minute changes leaves a very bad impression.

I know that for some people everything's blue right now because of this delay. But I say that when sadness comes you must buck up and never get discouraged. Only when you've been through the deepest valley can you ever know how magnificent it is to be on the highest mountain. :)

I think most people on here are getting worried, me being one of them, I know we should cut them some slack as it's there first release and they will learn from it but to many things are getting change and delays, and as @EvilThing stated the metal numbering card was the stand out to the rest, with it going to PVC my next question to @EverythingBlu is are us customers who order the Boxset getting a slight refund for this change? I can see a lot blu boxes getting cancelled now.

Maaan, you are one philosopher :hilarious::hilarious:

We paid for the product in January and paid for a product that we expect to brought to us in the condition it was advertised. Now we have PVC instead of metal numbering card.

With less than 2 weeks to shipping date these changes are now being made? These changes should had been done and tested before.

Now we are buying a product that was not advertised. I do feel EB should offer some form of compensation for the changes.

Didn't you get a refund already?

One thing I don't understand is I thought this was delayed because of a bank holiday? (2 days pushed it back to 3/4 weeks which I found odd anyway o_O) but really it's clear its materials and other bits were still not ready causing it to have more changes weeks after before release! So it sounds like we were lied to with the excuse!

I defo won't be buying the hot fuzz box on day one pre order and I'll wait until a few weeks before release

Yep so it does not appear to be a 'logistic' issue. It appears to be that the product is not ready to be shipped which is the reason for the second delay. Any future products I will order when they actually have the products ready to be shipped or closer to actual release date. Not bothered if it does get sold out or not.

Yeah next time I'll order on the final month before its out.

Said it many of times that I don't mind on this release as its their first but was thinking the other day and it's been a very very long time. Too long.

But If there's a final delay of a week or longer on this release then I'll wait for when their other steels are released until I purchase - and not before. Their reputation is being tarnished on this release IMO
