People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Had the same spine slash issue with mine. Amazon gave me the same options as you Huggy but then I asked for the 15% discount as I didn't wait in vain that this may come back with Amazon and I wouldn't be able to open it and watch.

I had a spine slash on Taken 2 and again today on Skyfall. They gave me 15% off my Taken 2 but knocked £3 off Skyfall for me when I emailed them. Only paid £8.89 in the end for Skyfall

I got my Skyfall Steel today all minty mint but my last two orders from amazon.uk Looper and Taken 2 also have both had really deep spine slashes. Some of my White WB titles also recently from amazon have had the spine slash syndrome, this problem certainly need's to be rectified.

I got a quick reply from my replacement email to amazon. No replacements available at all, been offered a refund or a 20% "damage keep" refund to retain the item.

It's not amazon at fault considering it's like this inside the shrink-wrap - their packaging is very good indeed.

I don't collect to resell or anything so I guess I'm keeping it (heck the Skyfall disc is already in the Bond boxset ).

All it takes is a nice thick cardboard top layer on top of the steelbooks. Then when Stan the Slasher opens up the unprotected steels inside the box, he's going to need a lot of force to rip through that top layer and damage the steels!

Mine has arrived now, one slashed and the other fine but both with a blue line on he spine just before the S but it seem like its in the artwork.

Mine also has this strange blue line on the spine which really looks like it shouldn't be there. Can any other members confirm if this is on every copy? It's not a slash but a weird strange blue line horizontally across the spine.
