Word of caution from an UK HDN Member about HMV (thanks VRob98)

People should just be aware of 2 things:
1) If you receive a damaged or faulty copy from now on, you will not receive a replacement or refund
2) If they charge your card and are then unable to fulfil your order, you will not be refunded.

The way a company operates whilst under administration is quite different to how it operates normally, and certain consumer rights are suspended. If anything goes wrong you would have to apply to the administrator or claim against your credit card issuer.

I'd encourage everyone who has orders in with HMV to consider the above, as I'd hate to see anyone here lose their money in all of this.

Maybe it was a really light slash. Like the end of the stroke so it didn't dig into the metal.

WONT LOAD!!

Hi,

Got my Skyfall steel book blu ray today in post from Amazon- no scratches on cover like other people have been reporting, HOWEVER...

IT WILL NOT PLAY!!

The 20th century fox screen appears then the screen just goes black and NOTHING happens!!

I have a pioneer bdp 51fd playing the disc. The player is up to date re firmware and it plays every other disc that i have. I have found some other reports on US sites that it will not play.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

I would clear the cache and then disconnect the power cord from your player and then try again.

my 2 copies had spine slashes, and 1 also had a chip but managed to get £5 off each one, and sold the worst one for a nice profit on fleabay

I had a a chat with Amazon customer service re: the blue line and they came straight in with the full refund and wait for replacement option, they must either be sure they are getting a sizable amount more in or they are offering them without considering the amount of people who could end up without one if everyone with damages took up their offer and they never get more in. I'm not expecting much a quid or two off would be nice.

Yea ridiculous, I'd pay cost just to get one even with a spine slash but not going to get fleeced on one, I have been hitting refresh on amazon non stop for 2 days now.

Buy the French versions that comes with cards and if the UK ones means that much to you, just wait patiently. If it doesn't comes back into stock, then you've still got a Skyfall steelbook.

may guess is people either a) don't know they can order from amazon.fr or .de or b) think that the discs won't play from another country
