SteelArchive should do what HDzeta is doing with their shop, and have a "Permanent" cart.
Once you have the item in your basket, you have a claim on that item for a reasonable amount of time to checkout- instead of people being able to "beat you to checkout" and "steal" the item from your basket.
I had an account, had the item in my basket at 5 seconds after live, and I still had it ripped from my basket. Not a great experience. Checkout phase was cocked-up.
The only store I knew of that did that was Amazon during their lightning deal promotions (and apparently HDzeta as you say, though I've never bought anything from them). The overwhelming majority of online stores work exactly the same way, whoever pays first gets the stock. Personally, I think that's the fairest way else scalpers could setup macros resulting in them getting the vast majority of a limited product. If they have to go through the whole checkout process and pay however, that then gets a lot more complicated for them/much harder to program, making it more likely for people that actually wanted it to get the stock.

Unfortunately with super limited releases like these there are always going to be those that loose out :( hopefully Steel Achive's next offering will be one in a less limited quantity.

You're absolutely right mate, everybody starts off small, hopefully Steel Archive rise to bigger and better things.

Edit: I should add I don't mean this is bad, it's just a turn of phrase where I come from.

Agreed. At least Steel Archive system is fair. Much better than PA system which limits how many people can successfully check out at the same time. So you can fail multiple times to check out even though item is still in stock.

Didn't know that, seems a bit strange. Is it limited by the amount of transactions that can be processed by their system at one time?
