Me too, but it looks like it has been left on the artwork if you look in the thread for the Japanese release with the same art

Are their pics of the actual steelbook as i cant find them? I ordered a 2nd to ensure i get a mint copy to replace my battered crappy German one but presumed the banner would be removed

I understand the discussion on people getting frustrated over this re-release, but I honestly think its a good thing. I've just got into steel collecting and obviously missed out on some titles that are now out of stock. Ordered my copy of Star Trek XI and hope that more of the Play.com backlist gets a re-print.

I agree. I too only got into steelbook collecting relatively recently and I don't do it so I can get my hands on some rare gem. I buy them because they look cool and any opportunity there is to get my hands on a re-print like Star Trek is appreciated. Sorry it's not going to be as rare as some collectors would like, but it's still going to be a limited run.

The black version was also available in Japan so although they are Zavvi exclusives.....They are not World Wide Exclusives...

Edit/ As Zone kindly pointed out the black version in JP turned out to be a metalpack not a Steelbook as I said...:ohno:

Think your right Zone....;) My mistake..:p

np buddy ;) I get your point though, but unless something says world exclusive on it these days then I'm happy to accept retailers will have country specific exclusives of the same title.

Just keeps us on our toes trying to bag 'the one' :)

the black version is available at amazon.de for preorder too and is a zavvi exklusive...so...your turn

I was answering his question relating to the White Star Trek Version being exclusive to Zavvi, but not a WEA exclusive, and being available elsewhere. Not the Black one, which we no is also a Zavvi exclusive but not again a WEA. And also available elsewhere...

I no mate. I think initially when Zavvi announced the Star Trek steels using the word exclusive, it was thought that the same steels would not start popping up in other country's. But obviously its not a WEA so of course there is the possibility of another country producing the same steel.

My moneys on Japan though for they always produce quality steels. And if JP gives the white version some unique slip then due to the limited print run then I think it will make a nice addition to the Play 1st release of the film...

On our toes is exactly right. You cannot turn your back for a second now and there seems to be another version coming out of the same film...
I am trying now to be much more selective in my collecting and trying to grab the World Wide Exclusives as they become available, like Amadeus JP for one. And only going for films I really like.. :p
Way too many release's to buy everything in steel now... ;)

I no mate. With all the Star Trek versions being exclusive one minute and then popping up some where else it does make your head spin some times...:D Although if JP gives the white version some unique slip then due to the limited amount available then I think it will make a nice addition to the Play 1st release of the film...

I think we're all hoping for that special JP slip!!

Ironically, it looks like the original Play and FS versions will be the only true exclusives of this film unless the re-prints can replicate that high gloss finish. And the 3 discs will further set them apart anyway

Like you say, these other white versions will make cool additions to my fleet if nothing else ;)

And to think when I bought the Play version I was not that bothered about Steels...Only bought it in Steel because I am a huge Star Trek fan !!! :hilarious:

What a piece of luck that was...EEK! Glad to have that baby now !! JP really needs to pulls something special out of the bag for this one to also make it unique from the Play version...:D

The Japan one shouldnt have come as a surprise to the "Ninjas" as I announced that monthssss prior to the listing ever showing up. ;)

I think we're all glad we held on to some. I love the build and finish quality of those older steels too. Just better, owners will know what I mean

I remember you mentioned it mate. Everyone was stressing about the re-release from Zavvi and you said it would appear elsewhere too. I'm hoping for a cool JP slip on that one

is it soop?

No, it is not 'smelling of old people' :p

But it looks like it could be OOP again. For now
