There are two different order descriptions for each Steelboook:

1. Star Trek XI - Zavvi Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]
2. Star Trek XI - Exclusive Limited Edition Steelbook [Blu-ray]

No 1 (The 'Zavvi Exclusive') is the black one.

And this is not the steelbook but just giving you idea on how it would look with the front and back. ie. giving the collector the choice of which side they want as front so you can switch the plates.

i have to admit, i'm still hoping for a re release of the original artwork, ie, the play.com edition, as i don't own it.
2 different releases are certainly something of interest though!!

Wat. The film is a re-boot. It tells the story of how the young kirk was born on a starship, how he met and became friends with the other iconic crew members, and how he lived up to his father's legacy. It's about how kirk became kirk and how spock became spock.

It is fundamentally about the characters. The Enterprise is what is less important in this movie, as without the crew, the ship is nothing.....

Yes, you are correct I was thinking the of the films in general...The characters change but the ship pulls them all together...I guess my gripe is my dislike of faces on steelbooks...Except Les Mis

heh, looking at that uk edition of the Hobbit, i can totally understand why u might hate faces on SB covers. :sniper:

Tho to be fair i think its all about the photography with faces. Here i think it works great, thanks to the dark & moody lighting

Im not sure which to go for. Never been a Star Trek fan but love JJ Abrams work and havent seen this movie. I have a dented, horrible German one and never saw the appeal in the play.com version as i thought it was dull, but then this is quite generic! Decisions, decisions!

If i read the header to each page correctly Wreck said this is not the steelbook but its an idea of what the concept is. I.E. you can flip designs.
If you look at the spoiler picture you will see there are no words on the cover and there are sparks going across their faces.

If that is the case why are people saying they don't like the artwork when thats not it?
Wreck finds out this info, it would be nice if people read it sometimes.

Clearly you can't read, the first two pictures are the Steelbook. The paragraph after those pictures is clearly explaining the next picture.

thanks, i rather the picture of the spoiler a lot more hope kirk will be the one on the front, but as long as he is at least on the back it is ok for me since i ll be able to expose it showing him.

The white version is a Zavvi exclusive. Look just like the old Play release.
