When I first saw the posting I was like Sweet!.... but seeing the artwork use up all real estate on one character, and then knowing that the price is due to a big bulky toy, I am now not so sure. I'm into blu ray movies, not toy spaceships. The steelbook should be offered as an option at a lower price, sans the ship.

looks nice, Wal-Mart is upping it's Steelbook game it appears, might just have to double dip and get a US version too

Any idea how big the 1:50 USS Vengeance actually is?

Liking the look of this one although would prefer the 3D version to be included. Honestly probably would have preferred it to be $10-$15 cheaper without the model included, but won't stop me from buying either way.

Glad to see the US exclusives picking up some steam and Walmart seems to be leading the pack (would honestly prefer BB or Target myself, but whatver it takes)- now if Walmart can just stick to the steelbooks and avoid the metal packs I'll be happy

I would assume price will drop $10 or more during release.

It better be atleast 2x the size of the USS Enterprise 1:50, the USS Vengenace was a beast. Going to grab this copy and then the FR Phaser with steelbook.

I could not agree more. The toys are cool, but don;t make me pay $40 and not give me a 3D BD.

I read somewhere the Enterprise (if it were real) is 3000ft long. so a 1:50 scale model would be 60ft long, surely? And I'm assuming the 'villain' ship is bigger. So a 1:5000 scale seems about right.

I can see someone going into Walmart asking a bemused minimum wage employee 'I have the schematics of the USS Vengeance here, and according to my calculations a 1:50 scale model....'

Agreed, I'm not sure that 1:50 is the correct scale, but that's what Hot Wheels calls these models. I have all of the models that pertain to the 2009 movie and 'Into Darkness', the boxes are about 7-8" long with the model being about 6" long.

Oh k. I guess they have some funky scale then, lol.

I suspect the 1:50 scale is based off the model they built for the movie, not the supposed size in the movie. Does that even make sense?

Its small enough to be put under a magnifying lense... their are youtube videos of it out their. It came out seperatly a couple weeks ago apprently but is hard to find on shelf now. Looks about the same size as a steelbook.
