For those that received their 1st shipment scratched because the pin was just taped to the front, here is an example of how a replacement was sent.

mine says shipped Sept 4.. but est delivery is Sept 18!!!! WTH!!!! And it says shipped by Germany Post DHL. I really hope it is not the real DHL as they have managed to destroy EVERY package delivered to me from all over the world.... especially Amazon Japan.... keep fingers crossed....
 
Well, my copy has just arrived grom Amazon.de and to say I am not happy is an understatement!!

What a stupid, stupid way to ship a steelbook!!!!....Attatch a metal pin to the outside of the steelbook.

Hmmm, what could possibly go wrong with that!!!

Well, as you can see from pictures 3 & 4 PLENTY can go wrong. The metal pin attached to the box has caused a major dent, right in the front. Crazy Amazon, just crazy :angry:

And to top it all, it also has a major scratch on the front, just below the Star Trek title :(

Well, this copy is going back, but if they have these pins on the front of all of their copies, I can't see how a replacement is going to fare any better.

I just hope all you other guys who ordered a copy have better luck than me!!

Man, that sux. I'm sorry to hear that, let's hope that Amazon realized their mistake and corrected that before sending out any others. I would definitely drop them a line and let them know what has happened and what they can do to fix the issue otherwise they'll continue to do the same with everyboy's.

Is that title debossed or does it just have a stroke line (border) around it?

No, it's just a black outline...No debossing, I'm afraid.

I'll try and contact Amazon.de tomorrow, but it's a little tricky as their entire site is in German (surpisingly!! :)), so it is difficult to navigate and find the right bit, but I will persevere and see what happens (I've tried google website translator but it doesn't seem to like that I am in a https site, being logged into my account)

Ah well...these things are sent to try us :rolleyes:

Oh crap mine has already shipped from Amazon.de and am expecting it either Saturday or Monday. Not too fussed bout having a printed back but I certainly do not want a huge dent in the front where the pin was stuck on - massive fingers crossed here!EEK!

If mine arrives damaged and has to go back what is the proceedure with replacements from Amazon.de, is it like Amazon.co.uk where they send out a new copy before you have even returned the damaged copy?

Yes their returns process is the same. They'll send you a new one free of charge. Sometimes they'll ask you to return the damaged item and if you don't you will be charged for both copies. Other times they'll let you keep both copies.

Kevin, 'Auto Translate' add on for Google Chrome translates this and other international retailers' sites into English. And Amazon.de may have a drop down opton to 'write to them in english'.Good luck.
 
.......I got the same pin size dent as KevinM got.....this is rediculous.

I think this maybe the same for everyone else's.....:(
 
Item is under review by Amazon.de and not currently available to order. Although it says on the site "Customers have informed us that the article is different from the description on the website. We are already working on a fast solution."
Might it have something to do with all the complaints they received about the dents to the tin from the badge being attached to the outside of the steel?
 
Man there's been nothing but problems surrounding this release and then people getting dented steelbooks. What's up with this thing? :ohno: Mine shipped yesterday but now I'm wondering if I should have waited to get this. EEK!

Probably shouldn't be a problem if it says Kanada instead of Canada. I think the postal workers will know where to send it :)
