No. Nothing ships from the US. Everything still ships from Europe.

Some vinyl and statues do. I’ve had stuff come from the US with tracking and when I questioned it they told me they have a unit in the US where some of the American exclusives ship from like when they sell waxwork or mondo vinyls

It's nearly twice (not quite) as many as 2000 plenty. :hungry:

...and you know what I was bit lazy and missed out, I'm such a numpty :D
There was plenty of time to get it after the initial problems. You just forgot. But fear not, there's plenty of these looking for a home still, just at a little more than the original price. Not much to pay for having missed out if you can find one in the same ballpark.

What were the initial problems? I may have to go back and read page 4 onward as I made note of a lot of chatter and skipped to the latest..

Yep I forgot, not losing any sleep as this will come back in stock or as you say bite and pay that little extra for another source. No biggie overall, time is on mine and everyone else's side given size of run.

Did you snag one for yourself? I'm will pay more attention to Empire Strikes Back, that's the one I want if it's got original art... :hungry:

It's better if you read it all, more fun that way. Started on page 8 I think.
I managed to get it without a problem.

It was live for hours before they closed pre orders for an hour or so. Surprised the steel collectors would of missed it however it’s Star Wars and it attracts the crazy non steel collector fans too. So tbh, it’s really not surprising it sold out day 1

I’m still going at them for cancelling my two copies. Apparently they have confirmed to me they will be cancelling all multiple copies. what they seem to not confirm when I’ve asked multiple times is if this will go back in stock. Even though apparently they are cancelling orders doesn’t seem this will be going back in stock. Which doesn’t make much sense unless I’m one of the very few that ordered 2.

3500 is plenty.

Actually, it seems was not even by far plenty enough! Here and on other forums there are a lot of people that say did not get it.

I for exeample, saw when become available for RC users and for Zavvi US, but not living in UK could not order it as a RC, and since I did never ordered from Zavvi US website and didn't kew that will be also shipped from UK, didn't ordered from there either; then, just few hours after, when I got back from work, my 18:00 o'clock, UK's 16:00, these were no more available.

Once again, someone that is "full" don't believe the ones that are "empty" (the saying was about bellies, but it is all the same in any context) .
Usually I really like and appreciate your comments, @DMD4k, but this time... (n) My opinion, if you don't have anything constructive or helpful to say, please at least don't bother to rubb your luckiness in others noses!

We're just having a bit of banter, we're not here to make offense of/to anyone. It's a larger run, would have been nicer if even larger, and like you, I missed out too. I'm certain this will be back in stock, so hold in there, this could be a Zavvi control issue to ensure they never oversold...

You know, I think I do understand when someone is kidding, but honestly, I for one, can barely keep up with the prices from UK compared with the purchasing power I have, so needless to say, I took this as a direct saying "go and get it from eBay" where is clearly a complete utterly nonsense.
I also hope I did not offended anyone, but can't really understand why and how, no matter how many they had or still have ordered to produce, that was sold out so quickly, when WAS OBVIOUSLY will going to be in HIGH DEMAND.

And if we take the "Zavvi control for not oversolding", then I think is even more pathetic from their side, if after so many years of existence, they don't have systems that prevent such things as oversold anything! I think this is one of the BASICS of electronic commerce.

After all this, is there ANYONE that have good inside connections (maybe @paulboland ???) could let us know if we should say "AMEN!" or if there's still "a hope for A New Hope"?!?!?

It sold out that quickly because Star Wars doesn't just attract steelbook buyers.

Hardcore Star Wars fans are some of the craziest collectors in the world. These will be sold to a lot more than just steel collectors.
And 3,500 - 4,000 is a normal sized limited edition print run. It’s limited and exclusive. Like a lot of their exclusives. Otherwise it wouldn’t be a limited edition

if like the 4k marvel steels, these could possibly pop up in the US closer to release. Meaning a certain amount of buyers will cancel their zavvi orders and the rest will become available after release

on a side note. I hope these are more like the marvel 4K steels and have a gloss front. Sticking to the original poster scheme could be a indication they will. Fingers crossed

Appreciate your input @Flloydo, yet, if you knew those facts, coudn't also the DUMBASS that makes market research at Zavvi to get to know that?
Or selling more is NOT in Zavvi's interest?

This cannot be correct. When the listing came back up for order it was limited to 2, so orders of 2 should not be cancelled, unless it's multiple orders of more than 2 or overseas orders that non RC members made, in which case, that's fine. I'm going to be upset if they cancel my other 499 orders of 2 each for this, that means only a 50/50 chance of a mint copy now.....:woot:

It's a joke...

3500 is plenty and a standard run. 2000 and 1000 runs are also sorta common for zavvi. They will restock at some poiint and I am guessing that its going to show up on FA and in the US, maybe other counties. No reason to worry or argue

No idea mate. I think they can only put in certain batch numbers when putting in the orders. Which is why if it’s a 2,000 print run it’s usually shared with another country etc. Steelbook politics comes into play

But people love a good conspiracy theory with zavvi (myself included at times). And at the end of the day it’s Disney’s choice on numbers. Plus if it’s going to be available in say the US, Canada and maybe some other places in Europe then that answers your question.

I know your annoyed and they aren’t literal facts but we all know Star Wars Sells quickly. Especially the original 3. Especially limited editions of the original 3 and especially the original art on a steelbook. Put that all together and there you go. Mass hysteria from all Star Wars fans

you only had to check zavvis twitter on the announcement to see they have had more people commenting on the Star Wars posts than I’ve ever seen people comment on before. That was a slight indication. Except for maybe the champions league cockup

We're cool @Felix_ro, after reading the huge amount of posts I skipped, this has been one release that got under a lot of people's skin for various reasons. Unavailable periods, available in US and not UK (members of RC), mass cancellations, then the sold out stance. Stocktaking in Zavvi has been mentioned in many threads before, as it's antiquated and they never adapt, they push product, regardless. Yes it's frustrating missing out, but I stand by my claim, this will be available again but given the period it was available, sounded like a nightmare day indeed for people trying to get a copy. Be patient, is all I can say.

Lol. Gotcha ;)

but yeah I’ve ordered from zavvi many times and for many years. Since 2013 I’ve been ordering from them and although I don’t order anywhere near as many releases as I use to, I always bought two of each release when it was a big release like this or soemthing I surely didn’t want to miss out on.
I placed an order for 2 Star Wars and top gun steelbook in the same order.

approximately 3 hours later I got the cancellation email. I’ve never seen this happen before.

I even know that people order multiples 2 in each order for example and place multiple orders. Which surely there’s no way if anyone did that, they would let that pass. They said 100% those would be canceled. But not sure if anyone actually tried to order multiples like that.

Oh and I’m not an RC member so not sure that makes any difference

I'm only asking out of curiosity but what indication was there that it was limited to 2 later on?
Was there a message on the ordering page? Or if you tried to enter a quantity higher than 2 it automatically changed to 2?
