What if Kylo is actually Luke’s son turned to the dark side. Then when Kylo says “Nothing will stand in our way. I will finish what you started." He is not Luke talking to his father, it is Kylo talking to his grandfather …

That's what I think too when not seeing Luke on the poster AND looking Kylo talking to Vader's legacy helmet (how else could he end up getting it anyway???)

@Drum18 it would fit a bit more, Kylo might be what mid twenties giving Luke about 5 years after RotJ to find someone and have a child. The child would know where Luke put Vader's helmet and is likely trained in the force...

Ahahaha! That is soooooo cool!!! Didn't know that!!!

We know that in the Expended Universe, Luke marries Mara Jade (strong soldier) so... everything is possible (knowing that EP VII is NOT related in any way to the EU).

I am not one of those that believe this theory, which is where my post is coming from. I don't think Luke is Kylo, despite the rumors.

I do however think there may be a family connection. My initial theory, and the one I am sticking with, is son turned to the dark side as I posted above. As @Drum18 pointed out (though I did know this as well), Luke did marry Mara Jade in the books and had a child in the EU. Though they may not be using the EU.

I do however believe the other internet theory that Rey is Han and Leia's child.

Though another thought and also in line a bit with the EU is maybe Kylo and Rey are somehow separated twins and Luke is their uncle. Kylo turns to the dark side for good purposes and Rey stays on the light side, mirroring what happens to Han and Leia's children in the EU. Though I still like my first theory more.

No point. Michael tagged me and I just chimed in. The theory sounds valid, but I just doubt it'll be Luke because, "Hey, look at that -- a pic of Adam Driver in the Kylo Ren suit."

Truth be told, I've never been a massive Star Wars fan. I've always liked them, but never loved them. I think a lot of that has to do with what you're raised with. For me, I never watched Star Wars growing up because my Dad never watched them. He watched Indiana Jones, James Bond, Lethal Weapon, and Steven Seagal movies... and I love all of those today (minus the Seagal movies -- not sure what my Dad was thinking there).

Gotta say, the new trailer got me a lil hyped (at 55 seconds in)...mainly because of the music, John Williams is just so damn awesome

I've not seen this rumour/ theory that Luke is Kylo.
That's definetly not true (I've already read that you don't believe it anyway) and as @tridon says Adam driver is Kylo plus it's 100% his voice with an effect. You can hear his voice quite clearly really or at least I could.
But i do agree that there could be a family connection and could be lukes son or could be Kylo and rey are twins or something like that (I like more he could be lukes son)
And I also think rey might be Han and Leia's daughter.
Also I think it rey turns out to be their daughter then Kylo will be lukes son. Somehow can't see them doing a simular twin story to the older films but more a reverse father and son like the orginal Vader/Luke story. Just my opinion and guesses.
Love how everyone is guessing and coming up with theories and stuff for this film. Just proves how huge this will be and now beginning to think this will smash Jurassic world with figures and stats.

I also think Luke will only get a small bit of screen time in this (maybe around the 3rd act) and I think he's going to absolutely smash it and act better than he's ever acted before and I think you will see more of him in the next film where I also think he will be killed off. Again just my guesses

Oh I know you wasn't buying into that theory, I did think the way I had written that you might take the wrong way, I wasn't telling you like a put down or something I was just saying there is no way it's him and I think the people who are saying this theory are mental lol

He could be in one of the stormtrooper outfits i suppose

Also with the billing thing I think where ford, Hamil and fisher are the first three just makes sense as they are the originals and a kind of thank you to them or something (also they may of been paid the most) but I can imagine Hamil is happy with the whole secrecy thing and not being a d*ck (like some actors would) and keeping the what's going on? thing. I imagine he's well up for it If you know what i mean

Me and @Noodles have also spoke about in quite a few of JJ s films he has mis direction at every aspect he can especially with promotion plus puts out forse info at times just to put you on another track until you see the film. I can just see JJ and Hamil having a chuckle rubbing their hands saying "it's working" in excitement lol

I predict a lot of annoyed fans after the premier. I sometimes wonder if it's wise to try and turn the clock back. Should we not have left the original cast as they were, memories from an era a long time ago........

I'm not expecting Hamil or fisher to be in it a lot but think ford might be in at least half of it or maybe a bit more

It's just the fact that a lot of publicity around this film has been around the original cast especially Harrison Ford and a lot of people might think they are being short changed when they come out of the Theatre and go "So much for the original cast staring in it".

I like the possible idea of a family connection between Kylo and the Skywalkers (Leia or Luke) - Luke/Leia, Rey/Ren (though Ren is the Darth part of the name)

@Lollard2002 I don't believe that at all. I think Luke may get more screen time than what we've seen, but this is going to be about Finn, Poe, and if anything Rey more than anyone
