While people in the United States don’t have an easy way to watch the Star Wars saga without paying for the films on digital download, Blu-ray or DVD, our friends in Europe will get access to every single film preceding this winter’s Star Wars: The Force Awakens as long as they have Sky Movies.

Starting on December 11th, the premium subscription channel that spans United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Austria and Italy will have all six Star Wars movies available to watch at home or on mobile devices. And to show off their additions to the library, they’ve delivered an awesome promo that weaves each of the films into each other in a cool way.

Hey- Sky Movies- last time I checked, a subscription service means paying for films. (They make it sound like it is some great free service while us chumps in the U.S. have to pay for Blu rays- which, by the way, will have superior sound and image quality than any streaming subsciption service)...plus, they will probably get the aspect ratio wrong- the UK always does on the BBC.
I'll stick to my blus thank you.

The BBC is actually very good at aspect ratios, it's ITV who Show Star Wars that get the aspect ratio wrong. As for watching Star Wars properly the way they were originally shown, well that's what the laserdiscs are for.......

For the longest time, the BBC played the 1.33:1 Star Trek: TNG in a pushed-in forced 16:9 aspect ratio - cutting off the tops of everybody's heads in the process. Then they used a stretched 1.33 to 16:9 making everthing fat and squat! Only in the last year have they finally gotten it right, and use the correct 1.33 to one aspect ratio with pillar boxes on the side.
You would've thought that 16:9 tv would have solved a lot of aspect ratio problems… But instead people started making mistakes in the other direction!

The BBC when they had the rights to Star Trek the NG always showed it in 4/3. I know i have DVCAM analogue recordings of them. 4/3 was the only aspect they ever showed it in.
