But there is always this scene which makes me question if he really did write three stories originally......

Yes, I always thought this too.

When Star wars was released in '77 it was just titled Star Wars.

It wasn't until 1981 after Empire came out that they added Episode IV A New Hope to the title. For me, that's when they decide on 3 films. And only because of the commercial success of the first one.

Lucas wasn't even sure how the first film would be received let alone another 2 films.....

There is 2 brilliant star wars documentaries
Most know The Empire of dreams and have this with the DVD Box set and is brilliant and covers how the film got made and the special effects creation etc

There is also The Legacy Revealed it covers lot more on the creation and origins of films and were it's influences came from that gave George Lucas the ideas for the Story and some of his mentors that inspired him especially with Greek mythology and his passion for Flash Gordon

Here is my review of the movie, it is heavy with spoilers so if you have not seen the movie yet be cautious.

Hum... What's the catina? :p

Also,
"Ben keeps talking to Darth Vader’s", don't you think it should be "Kylo" as he's not Ben anymore when dressed up like that?

And I completely agree with you for:
Least favorite for me were the other empire villains. They were all very young and in high-ranking positions, which I don’t get. Also, Captain Phasma was very weak. From the trailers and buildup, I was hoping for a lot more. I hope there is more of her story that got cut since all I heard was how STAR WARS was building more strong female characters and while Rey certainly fit the bill, Phasma did not. She did not do much, got captured easily, and lowered the base’s defenses. I’m more afraid of the New Inquisitor in the STAR WARS REBELS show than I am of her, and I have not even watched the second season of REBELS yet.
It was wasted... but I'm pretty sure it will be fixed in VIII.

OK you got me, I was in a rush... I'll just delete the whole article :dunno:

as to that, I made the choice to call him Ben and not Kylo since I think parts of the future plot line will be his redemption and I want to think of the light side of the character. He's on the Dark Side but he was conflicted and as Leia say's 'there's still good in him'

You know what... I kind of hope not. The OT was about the redemption of Darth Vader and his way back to the Light... I hope this new trilogy won't do the same but more about how we can be different in life and how Rey's destiny will bring balance to the Force with the Light vs Dark.

That's not exactly correct the original story he wrote covered the 3 films story line but was way to long for 1 film
So he re done the screenplay with the rest of the story put aside for 2 other possible films depending on if the first Star Wars film was a success and yes at the time he did not expect it to be a massive hit and was not sure if the 2 other parts of the trilogy would ever get made

It was a success and because he had the merchandize rights to the first film he made huge amount of money to make 2 films which were originally part of the overall story
He yes then with other writers adapted and changed a lot of his original storyline he had created for future 2 films to create new screenplays for the Empire and Return of which lot was completely different to his original screenplay

A lot of this is covered in the Documentary The Legacy Revealed and Empire of Dreams Documentary

maybe maybe not, but this trilogy will come to a head between Rey and Ben. And if they are related it will come down to a redemption thing. Sorry that's just where I think it is leading

Anakin already brought balance to the Force :p

Can someone explain to me why I am reading post after post about the origins of Star Wars and when I made a comment on what I thought about The Force Awakens it gets deleted or moved.

Talk about double standards.

Ps. I don't see a problem with talking about SW in general on this post, it's not like we are going to hear anything factual about the contents of this Steelbook for some time, I just get a little fed up with the petty actions of moving some posts and not others.
Rant over, carry on peeps.

It's simple, the prequels are so rubbish and hated by the majority of REAL Star Wars fans, it's the reason Lucas sold the lot off. It's well known by industry insiders that Lucas was deeply sad "eventually" that most of the fans that supported his first 3 films turned their backs on him and the franchise. Yes I DO know this for a fact as I know many of his friends.

Not only did he make 3 bad star wars films that deeply tarnished the franchise, he made 3 films that are some of the worst in cinema history. You only have to look at reviews for the new film, nearly all state whether Force Awakens puts the franchise back on track after those 3 catastrophic messes. The hatred on a mass level crushed George who sold it all off to let someone carry the torch. Force Awakens DESTROYS any of those 3 blasphemous betrayals, anyone remotely trying to disagree is wrong plain and simple.

Sorry bud, but nothing makes me facepalm more than when people try to define what makes someone a "real" Star Wars fan (or a fan of anything for that matter). There's no right or wrong when it comes to what people love and/or hate... it's all down to personal taste. I'm not particularly a fan of the prequel trilogy either, but some of the most interesting conversations I've had about the three films were with people who do actually enjoy them. My point is... it makes things a lot more fun to discuss if you just accept other people's opinions. :)

I stand by my comments.

I don't subscribe to the notion of personal choice, otherwise we'd have to accept and tolerate things like chavs.
