Great shots as usual Ricster! Having got this in hand, I'm incredibly dissapointed in it. Could've been great. I think I'll stop preordering these releases now and take my chances on EBay if they don't turn out to be turds. :(

Got a copy for my sister and I have to say that my Canadian version is hands down better, the only thing that the Zavvi steel has over it is inside art.

Go back to last year and look at the MM Last Stand.
That was a proper Steelbook.
Embossed, Debossed.
Pound for euro cheaper too!!!!!

This was the first time I missed out on pre-ordering a steelbook that I really wanted. Dodged an extremely cheaply made bullet there. I'll pop some decent art inside the Canadian version and forget about this one.

Might try getting the Canadian steelbook aswell, and simply swap the back plates over.

Unlike alot of you apparently, I prefer a matte finish to a glossy finish. If it were glossy, it would've become a "fingerprint magnet".
FYI, the (far superior, IMO) North American release is glossy, so your back plate wouldn't match the front, and you'd only have interior art on the left half. :)

Lower print runs are always better.
Not when you've got a lot of people that want the same thing. Lower print runs only serve those concerned with resale value and encourage scalper hoarding, they never help people who don't care about profit and simply want a copy of a nice release for themselves.

When I look at the OP image and compares with actual pictures of this, all I can think is why matte, Zavvi?

With full gloss this would be stunning, matte it's just nice

Certainly doesn't sound like it's worth the £30 people want off Ebay for it!!!

I can't believe the mark up these guys want; you got it for £18, surely a £5 profit would be reasonable - this world is so full of greed

I've decided to keep the slipcover version. Now do i risk baying it as i doubt this will even recoup the £18 it cost me,or do i send it back?

It's going for cost price (and sometimes a lil over) on eBay when I looked earlier this morning.

I am keeping my steelbook though, I think it looks OK (nothing as bad as some other steels out there *cough*Fantasia*cough*)

just received mine and it looks ok but certainly not better than for example Starship Troopers so this shouldn't have cost more than 14.99 euro

like some other members have already stated if this would have gotten a 4000 copies print run this would have ended in the offer sales for 10 euro

nevertheless i didn't own the movie yet on blu-ray so i'm still glad to add this to my blu-ray and steelbook collection

If you take into account shipping, ebay fees and pay pal fees then there is not that much profit from £30

Hi
Does anyone know where the Steelbook has whether German sound is it? The on the Paperbak is nothing on it from German. Only in the database stehr German sound?
greeting Thomas

A: It's easy to add new interior artwork, so your reply is invalid.
B: Adding a coat of gloss to the matte front plate would be easy too.

Bottom line:
The Zavvi/StudioCanal release has nicer front artwork, while the Canadian release has nice back artwork. Easy to combine the two into a nice looking steelbook.
