It seems everyone loved There Will Be Blood, why all the hate for this when it is pretty similar?

I think it has to do with the type of movie..TWWB suits the gritty matte, this one not so much. This one has so much potential, even w/o gloss..

My gosh!
I've cancelled last minute last week and sooo glad I did. Looks just ok, nothing more. Too bad... such a great movie. Would have been great with gloss and embossed Pyramide and debossed title (à la Goldeneye)

i wanted it, but now i see it i dont want it. colours look washed out and muted. unlike the product image which suggested it would be rich..

My text worked a treat then joker ;)

Yeah, don't know how many time I reloaded the page between 15:25 and 15:37

Funny thing was I did contact Zavvi about cancellations and was told that any cancelled stock they would keep to cover any damages or replacements they would need to make. Thank god for digitalbabe's information.

I see some people aren't happy with the quality and finish, though personally I don't mind it. Obviously would be better if the back at the same art as the Canadian release, but I'm happy to have got an order in for this now.

How come this cost so much? Is it just because of the ltd numbers? Because it's certainly not reflected in the quality of the Steelbook.

If so, then how come HMV can produce say Enders Game with a much cooler finish for a cheaper price? Similar print run also I would imagine.

I have the same problem with Disney, £25 for 3D and people think thats ok. I got Pacific Rim 3D for £16 in HMV.

It doesn't bother me so much as I haven't bought any of this wave, but I thought when I saw the higher pricing that Zavvi were upping their game and that all these titles would at least be gloss for that price. More fool me!

I guess it doesn't matter to Zavvi as they know well at this stage that people will buy any old shite.

True, I've cancelled a bunch of orders after see this. If this was in HMV it would sell poorly and be under ten pounds in a matter of months. Its print run is the only reason it sold out and like you say our hopes that it might actually be a premium finish at that price.

Thanks for the heads up. For weeks I was subscribed to the thread and in a way, I am really glad I missed the initial order for this.

Such a disappointment. I recall the close encounters steelbook going for £5.99 before it sold out. This is almost a carbon copy design.

This is the risk of buying a pre order that sells out before you get chance to see it. The worst of the new "wave"

There are a lot nicer 4000 print steelbooks still for sale, at a fraction of the price. I really stand by my opinion, that if this was a 4000 print run at a lower price, it would struggle to sell out. They would likely use a "sale" price to get them all gone.

I like the majority of the limited print runs that have come out, but the concern is now that Zavvi will keep on doing it, so the novelty will soon run out.
