LOL! Oh no my eyes!

Avengers 2 will definitely be a day one BD purchase for me. I can't wait!

HT definitely still has the best likeness rights. Thats a good theory about the McQ stuff. I do think they will look great and be really cool, but there is no way I'd throw what SS is going to be asking for those on versions of characters that only absolute die hard SW fans would be familiar with.

Agreed! People have issues with the new Vader PF price, so what does SS think they are going to get with their McQ Vader? Not to mention that there will be a new movie coming out every year for the next 6 years that will have their own characters that people will want, and who are actually in the movies.

Exactly! But I have to wonder if SS doesn't announce it has the TFA license by comic con maybe they won't get it? :dunno: That would be so weird.

You ABSOLUTELY have to check this out for some life size Star Wars awesomeness!!!!: http://www.starwars.com/news/smugglers-jedi-and-droids-arrive-at-madame-tussauds-london

HAHA! I saw that earlier today. When I first saw the pic of Leia and Jabba, I was trying to figure out how in the hell they got Carrie back in the bikini, LOL! The likeness is so spot on!

That's kinda my point, they don't have the license as of yet, and the only PF's they have coming for SW are 2 repeat characters and Jango (maybe). No announcement of any new PF's from the Saga or TCW. And, all they showed at Celebrations were the McQ 1/5 Trooper and 1/6 Vader as far as "new" stuff. Unless they are sitting on a bunch of TFA stuff just waiting until they have the ok to show everything, which I doubt, HT and any other high-end company that is making TFA stuff will no doubt get a bigger reaction that concept art brought into statue form.

I do wonder how if Disney is the one making them hold off on making or announcing new product, so that focus can be put on the newer movies and TV shows. But, I think what is more accurate is that SS doesn't know where to go with the SW license, and has switched to it's house product, "Court of the Dead" since it is their product (no licensing fees). Thankfully, those who are into Marvel and DC are finally getting theirs though.

She looks so freaking life like if I was there I'd probably be molesting the thing LMAO! I want to have all of that stuff! I'd probably give everything I own for that Duel of the Fates display and the Slave Leia.(Leia could stay in my bed :D)

These are the reasons why I'm thinking maybe they might lose the SW license. They have so much on their plate from other licenses (and I even completely forgot about their own Court of the Dead) that they've shafted SW almost completely into non-existence on the PF front, and into complete non-existence on the bust and dio front. With HT acquiring the sixth scale license I find it hard to believe collectors are going to be sticking with Sideshow much longer when HTs are going to look better. And with HT having quarter scale rights I think thats going to take a chunk out of the quarter scale collector crowd as well, but there will at least be a lot of collectors who will pass on quarter scale HT because they want to collect statues instead of figures.

I think I ultimately wish that SS would just relinquish their SW sixth scale rights to HT, and that way they could focus on PFs and other statue-like stuff, such as busts, dios, and the less mainstream stuff like Mythos or McQ. I'd like to wishfully think SS has been so quiet on the PF stuff because they are waiting to unload on new TFA PFs, but I just think they've been to busy with everything else to have the time.

If by "getting theirs" you mean getting bent over by Sideshow then you are correct, ha. These prices are getting out of control. The last PF I ordered was Power Girl in November and she was $399.99. Now both Red Son Superman and Spider-Man are sitting at $469.99 which is apparently the new PF base price. $70 price jump in six months and there is nothing justifying it. Sideshow's quality control is iffy at best and they don't listen to their customers' input at all or they would fix Darkseid's size. I'm seeing more and more people backing out of purchases on the forums. I'm going to have to re-think my original plan when it comes to collecting DC stuff.

You know they are holding off on releasing Star Wars stuff until they raise the prices some more!

I'm getting infuriated by the price increase. Arkham Bats, Red Son Supes and Spidey make 3 PFs in a row at $470. Darkseid is still baffling at $600, and if Sideshow didn't change the Reeve PF after all the backlash that thing was receiving they won't be changing the Darkseid PF either. If I don't see the price increases back off on some new stuff at SDCC I'm going to be rethinking the way I collect DC stuff too. I knew the prices would go up as they do every year but I was thinking like $430, definitely not $470. By next summer these will definitely be over $500 and probably closer to $550. I could literally only swing one or two $500+ PFs per year, if I could swing any others they would have to be well under that and thats not going to happen. I'm really starting to regret buying all of my extra Bestas now.

Yeah I'm definitely not happy right now. I think I may sell all of my Batman related PFs (except Batman and the Joker) and just start focusing my comic collection on my favorite characters (Superman, Green Lantern, Daredevil, Spider-Man). I also still want the Justice League lineup, but Green Lantern already doesn't fit with the trinity and who knows how much the last three will cost by the time they come out (or who knows if they will even get the scale right on those)! Ugh!

Agreed! Although, regarding the Mythos line, I would love to see more from that. No doubt HT will take a big chunk of the 1/6 sales from SS, but they really need to get going on human portraits (no helmets). Seems like more of the same with Vader and troopers. Same with the 1/4 stuff. EPIII Kenobi, Qui-Gon, Mace, Padme, Ki-Adi, Kit, Battledroids, man there's just so many! And, I'd buy them all! ;)

I know! That Duel of the Fates display is the best! I walked into the upstairs loft this morning thinking how I could fit something like that up there, LOL!

Yeah, although overpriced, there seems to be plenty of product right now for those franchises. And, I'm willing to pay those prices for a quality product, but sadly that hasn't been the case the last few years with SS. Even as much as I love the Savage Opress PF, the paint app on the portrait could be far better.

I definitely have to be more selective now, as many collectors seem to be now also. SW PF's are close to double what they charged when SS first came out with Luke in '04. And, while some things have improved, some things haven't along with a downslide in QC and CS. Still, the love for the franchise far outweighs alot of issues which is why I still buy, but like most just being more selective now.

I can't say that I'd blame you. I know the Batverse isn't your favorite thing and at these prices you pretty much gotta limit what you collect to your absolute favorite characters. I really like the new Spider-Man PF but I'm still going to hold off on Marvel stuff. I've already got more than my fill of price problems with DC and SW stuff without throwing Marvel into the equation. Maybe one day once I finish off the DC PFs and any SW stuff then I can look at the Marvel ones. I'd really like a Spidey and a Venom PF and more than a handful of X-Men ones.

I hope the rest of the Justice League turns out okay for you, but if it doesn't at least you will be getting a pretty penny if you decide to sell off your GL PF. I have a feeling by the time they finish the Justice League line off all PFs will cost at least $600 though :grumpy:.

Oh yeah, I'd like to see them do more Mythos too. Although I don't think I'd get any more of them I'd still love to see how they would turn out. And I could just enjoy them vicariously through your pics :D.

Yeah I was definitely thinking of where I could fit that Duel of the Fates display too LOL.

I wish I could say I'd pay these high Sideshow prices if they'd up the QC but even if they did I have a breaking point and they're really getting near it. Even at the $470+ they are at right now my collecting speed is really going to take a hit.

I'd love to see a new company come and swoop in and steal all the licenses and bring the prices back to '04 prices but I don't think thats going to happen. :(

When it comes down to it, I would too! It does seem some of the passion for the franchise is gone for the uppers at SS, and a new company excited to have this license would be nice! Wish I had the ability to start a company to make these, LOL!

What was the Luke price in '04? Was it $250? That would mean in ten years prices have gone up $250, but it seems like about $200 of that has happened in the last two years. They are getting crazy with their price hikes. I wonder if it's because they are seeing collectors willing to fork over $800+ for XM statues so they know they can get away with it.

Yeah, the Batverse isn't my favorite so I think I need to change the focus of my collection. At first I was thinking I could afford all the Justice League busts at $679 a pop since it was only once a year, but if the PFs are going to start costing that much then I need to rethink everything. Sadly the collectors will just keep giving in to the insane price raises. I was just reading the Darkseid thread and now everyone is ordering it because there's only 500 being made so apparently the small scale and high price don't matter anymore.

I don't think that "one day" will ever come, ha. There will always be more Star Wars stuff coming out with the new movies, it will be tough to even keep up! What all do you have on order in the DC line right now?

There are a lot of people on the forums that think that people buying all the XM stuff is the real reason prices are going up, but I don't think there are that many collectors that are willing to shell out $800+ for a quarter scale statue here in the U.S. I think its only a few diehards on the forums and not too many more than that. There is no way I'd be dropping $800 on a quarter scale piece thats for sure. But whatever, if SS decides they want to keep raising prices I'll just stop buying most of the new stuff from them and sell off any parts of my collection that aren't complete and fill in with other stuff I want from the aftermarket. There is a big part of me that wants to stop collecting any comic stuff altogether since I don't really read them all that much and just focus on picking up movie collectibles or at the least the movie version of the comic characters. I would love to go back and pick up all my favorite SW characters I don't have, and get an Indy PF, and an Arnold PF probably from T2, and then maybe pickup the rest of any Burton Batman characters they might make which would only be another 3 if they made them all, maybe a couple Nolan ones, and then maybe a Reeve Supes if anyone makes another one other than SS's awful one. But I do think that things going to get a heavy discount during Spook this year, and even a bigger one if its still available next year.

Now some PFs are practically the same price as the busts, so I'd definitely understand if you could only collect one or the other. I'd probably stick with PFs over the busts but thats just me. I can't believe how addicted some collectors are if they are willing to drop $600 on Darkseid just because it has a low ES. I have a feeling if SS would have made that thing a lot more affordable they could have probably made more than 1500 of them.

I only have the BG PF on order, and I just ordered the framed Batman print last weekend. But I ordered that before I saw the Spidey price was announced at $470 making it the 3rd PF in a row at that price. I'm now thinking I shouldn't have ordered that print when I'm going to need that extra cash for the increased price of PFs. I wanted to believe that Arkham Bats and Red Son Supes were just flukes at that price but now its obvious that $470 must be SS's new entry price point. With these prices I might actually flip my print. I would usually just cancel it but I don't want to lose the NRD and the reward points I used on it.

Yeah, it was. Ben was $275 and Vader was $350 which were the next 2 releases. Grievous was the most expensive back in the day ('05) at $450. The new Vader is $500, but it of course has the larger base, but it does look like the body suit is mixed media and not sculpted like they did with Darth Malgus. Also, just for S&G's, the OG Boba Fett was $325 while the new one is $440.

Sadly, I'm one of the people to blame. My love for the SW Universe far outweighs alot of the issues I have with SS, so I buy. And, again sadly, they still are #1 maker of 1/4 SW stuff. This is where I really hope HT can knock their 1/4 stuff out of the park especially with the human sculpts. But, again, you're talking higher prices than SS. I imagine once they start on 1/4 human sculpts, the prices to compared to SS will be even more than say the 2 Boba Fett pieces.

I wanted to believe that Arkham Bats and Red Son Supes were just flukes at that price but now its obvious that $470 must be SS's new entry price point. With these prices I might actually flip my print. I would usually just cancel it but I don't want to lose the NRD and the reward points I used on it.

LOL! So true! The Bossk 1:1 bust was $499 in '07. The Savage Opress PF is $499 today.

BTW, speaking of T2 Arnold, I read Chronicle Collectibles is working on an Arnold 1/4 piece ATM. Not sure if it'd be less or more than the SS T2 Arnold, but something to think about. I did also read that they may be working on other Arnold pieces from Terminator as well.

I always thought the new Vader and Fett would be higher just because SS would charge more just because of the popularity of the characters. But now we are getting variants and less popular characters that are right up there or higher. When I made the choice to collect the Batverse it was mainly because every piece I was seeing come out was right at $400 or lower for practically all DC characters, and all of the SW characters I wanted were much higher in the aftermarket, and now SS's current prices have matched or exceeded what stuff is going for in the aftermarket, and now even some of the aftermarket stuff is coming down. I'm really upset because even though we would joke about these price increases coming now that they are here and they have gone up so extremely out of nowhere it really sucks. I hope that it takes a chunk out of SS's sales so they chill out with the price hikes. I fear what TFA PFs will cost if SS gets the license. I may be priced out of PFs and into HT instead at that point.

I think our love of the characters really outweighs a lot of our other issues with Sideshow. I will complain about QC and stuff but I will put up with it because I love the characters and when Sideshow gets it right they are the most amazing things out there. But I do feel that when we are paying the prices we are we should be able to criticize a company when things aren't perfect, these aren't $6 Hasbro figs we are buying. And no matter the quality there is a breaking point for me as far as the prices go.

I really need to look into that Arnie piece from Chronicle they've got coming out. When I was a kid I must have seen T2 hundreds of times. Whenever I was at a sleepover or a party whenever we were picking something to watch it was always T2. Good times LOL.

You should definitely check out their FB page. Especially the video with the new Terminator rifle from Genisys:

There really isn't a breaking point for me, but as prices rise, I have to be more selective with what I buy. And, I buy from an AD rather than direct because as we all know, thier CS is ok to good, but their returns dept. is just horrible. Like I've said before, they make sure their AD's are taken care of since that is where a majority of their sales go to, which does make me wonder if they have a special QC dept just for AD's because I've never received a damaged item from any I've bought from.

That Terminator Endo Rifle is freaking huge! I've checked the Chronicle Collectibles website out and their FB page and they've got some really freaking awesome stuff coming out from Terminator Genisys like the 1:1 Endo Skull. They've also got a flex pay system too which is nice.

I also watched the Arnie Blowing Sh*t Up video on their Facebook page. That was freaking awesome and hilarious. He's still got it LOL.

I think if I ever personally run into an issue with SS's CS department that could possibly lead me to dealing with an AD from that point forward, that is if I would continue to buy stuff at all from SS if they would screw me over bad enough. But everytime I've had to contact them they were able to fix whatever issue I was having. But we all know from your unfortunate experience that the CS department definitely can f*** people over. I definitely don't feel confident or anything like that if I have to contact them.

Well, as long as you don't have to deal with the returns dept, you should be ok because that is where the issue was.

They seem like an awesome company. Reminds me alot of how SS was back in '04.

whatsup Starkiller... Hope all is well, man.

Hey pac! All is well man. Hope all is well with you also. You need to stop by more often man. :)

I still feel really bad how SS completely shafted you and shut down your account. I see that SS is still getting complaints on the BBB for lack of communication between them and the customers. When they can't deliver something on time they still seem to just ignore the customer as much as possible. I still love their products but this business will probably always have tons of issues.

I really like how Chronicle is open with their customers on their Facebook page and lets them know what they've got coming out. Tweeterhead is actually pretty cool too, and I think they actually listen to their customers input on upcoming projects. Sideshow used to have the Ask Sideshow thread on StatueForum but they shut it down probably due to too many questions and complaints about QC, prices, and any other issues we've discussed in the past lol.

Funny you say that because I read most of that thread just a few days ago, LOL! It is nice they communicate that way, but lets face it, it isn't the same as back in the day with Dusty. I do like what Chronicle is doing, and if I collected Terminator stuff, I'd be all over their products!

It was probably a good thing in the end. Dealing with AD's are far easier than SS. Even the SS EX stuff I can get, so no reason to go through SS anymore.

BTW, you, and everyone else on the planet may know this already, but I literally just found out about the movie Suicide Squad coming next year. I immediately ran to my daughter (the Batman fan) and told her. She looked at me like, "Um, yeah, where the hell have you been?" LOL!
