OMG! You should have thrown a pic up of the carpet before you removed it.

It'll be interesting for sure. Especially if they nail it like in the movie.

I bet it was due to pics getting out, and Disney/ LFL nailed them for it.

It's kinda funny because there was a lot of people unimpressed with SS when they first started too. If Vader, Maul, and Grievous are anything like their Boba, they'll be amazing.

I don't know exactly what I'm looking for. I just know I want to try something different. SS, IMO, has gotten lazy when it comes to poses and especially their QC which has been in decline for years. That said, having seen XM and IR's work on other stuff, I'm excited to see what they'll bring to SW.

Yeah, I got messaged on FB about that page. Good alternative.

I don't mind large bases. What the problems is with SS is that they make a big base and throw a statue on top of it. It works for some like Savage and the new Boba, but not so much for others like the new Jango. I look at what XM did with their Boba base and think they are far more creative.

I bet that has alot to do with it. How many times was the same thing said when the first SS Vader came out. Or when the first Boba came out. Too nit picky, IMO. We aren't talking about a glaring issue like the fingers shortened on the Aurra Sing PF or the missing hilt on the Kenobi Mythos, we are talking millionths of an inch on a helmet FFS!

These were the leaked images that got XM in trouble last year. Still have them saved. Love the little Ani and older Anakin.

Good list man. Maybe I should go that route.

Ha ha, you didn't want to see that carpet, I could barely stand looking at it! The funny thing is my townhouse isn't the only one with that pink carpet in this lot. Apparently the old people living here when it was built really liked their pink carpet and flower trim. Barf. Now I have grey carpet and premium vinyl flooring in the entrance and office. It looks much nicer. Unfortunately I may have to paint now...

I completely agree about Sideshow getting lazy with their poses. I'm looking at all these XM Marvel statues and then at my DC Sideshow statues and they are kind of disappointing to me now. Don't get me wrong, some of the Sideshow statues are great. I really like their new Spider-Man, Green Goblin, Wolverine, and Cheetah. And even though they are in generic standing poses, their Gladiator Hulk and Lobo are masterpieces. I also think the new Maul and Kylo Ren look good. I actually prefer the SS Boba Fett over the XM one too...but I think it's time to start being more picky and maybe paying more for better statues.

Okay I wasn't sure those were the pictures that leaked last year, I had never seen them before. You should join that statue site if you're going to be buying XM pieces. I've seen one Fett on there listed for $800 plus shipping, that's the cheapest one I've seen so far.

Thats weird. I know there are a bunch of X-Men people have been waiting on for a long time too. I hope they don't do this with their DC stuff. They already kind of are by doing all of these variants and one-off comic and movie versions of the characters instead of finishing out the main comic line they started. I really don't think they should have gone out and done Red Son stuff before even finishing the classic Justice League comic characters.

I can't tell if those were the same ones that were leaked last year or not. Vader looks like Vader there so if thats what people are seeing I'm not so sure what all the complaining is about. I definitely need to see more of the Christensen and Lloyd sculpts to judge if they are good or not. Sculpts of actual actor likenesses is by far the biggest thing I'm most concerned with XM.

No Jar Jar? I guess its probably sad that I consider him essential .

The Red Son statues were a terrible idea! Seriously who wants a bunch of Russian statues on their shelf? If they were going to go alternative universe they should have done Kingdom Come! They take way too long to get to main characters because they are too obsessed with T&A.

Ha, I thought about Jar-Jar. I didn't put Grievous on there either, mostly because his statues are too big and unaffordable! I'm going to try hard to stick to just one statue of each character. So it may be time to say bye to my Sideshow Daredevil. That rule doesn't apply to Superman of course, I need some decorations for my Superman themed guest bedroom. :p

If you can manage to stick to one version of each character that will help you out so much. The only problem is not every version of every character is available so you might have to go with no version of that character for years or even decades until they make the one you want. I'm so happy SS made a Jedi Luke PF.

I really love the Green Goblin PF. I wish I was collecting Spider-Man stuff just for that statue alone.

Thats a good price for that Boba! Well, considering what he usually goes for. I still think we are all mentally ill for spending anything over $200 for any figure/statue . If I could go back in time a few years and tell myself how much money I was going to spend on pieces I didn't even knew existed I probably would have **** my pants.

Thats definitely one of the very few times we will ever say "thats too much T&A" ha! But I agree, they're getting overboard, they are picking minor characters that have tits instead of major heroes that are dudes. And now that I just said that, why am I complaining .

You gotta post pics of the Superman room!!!

Well I just pulled the trigger on the Jango PF. I've been looking at the pics all week and decided to get him. I really love the details of the base, and the pose is really growing on me too. I do feel kind of bad that I kind of just funded and encouraged SS to continue to make large ridiculous bases though lol.

Congrats man! Now we'll have to see who gets him first. :)

If I could go back in time I would tell myself not to waste all my money collecting other stuff when great statues were in my future. Although I do agree it's crazy to spend $1K on a statue. What's killing me right now with all these XM photos is I just started reading Ultimate Spider-Man from the start and now I'm in full Spidey mode, ha ha. I had only read the first 10 volumes previously, but I finally got the rest of the series so I started over from the beginning.

I know it's crazy to complain about hot girl statues, but there really are way more male statues I want. Other than Zatanna and Stargirl, there are no other female statues I could see myself buying and I'm sure they still have about 20 more in mind!

I'm sure you'll get yours first. Whenever SS finally ships a new statue it seems people get pics up up within a day or two , but I don't get my statue for like a week or more after that even when it shipped the same day as theirs. I swear I've read that people on other continents like Australia somehow manage get theirs days before mine. SS's shipping to the Midwest sucks.

If I could go back in time I would have told myself to find SS sooner so I could have gotten some of my older pieces at retail prices lol. I haven't read Spidey in so long. Its probably been well over a decade. I have to admit after watching Civil War it has gotten me back into a Spidey mood.

I don't have any comic statues left, but I may get a Zatanna.

Ha ha, I don't know if the shipping is so bad that it's getting to other continents first! Most of those people that get them the next day live in California. It usually takes a few days for me to get mine.

I tried watching Civil War last night...I ended up fast forwarding to the airport fight scene then turning it off. Not sure if I just wasn't in the mood or what. I just watched The Fifth Element for the first time ever, I was quite amused.

Okay, first how in the hell have you not seen The Fifth Element before? That movie is so freaking cool! Its so much fun while being so completely different than most sci-fi movies that are out there.

The airport fight scene is by far the best part of Civil War. I do like the movie as a whole, but it is kind of on the long side and its really packed with a lot going on. Sometimes I have to be in a certain mood to watch movies that are nearly two and half hours long or more. Its not that I don't enjoy them but when I watch something casually I usually like movies that are between 90 minutes and 2 hours long. I usually find those movies offer the highest amount of re-watchability too.

So were you planning on sixth scale or PFs with that list of SW essentials you made the other day? Or are you doing a mix?

I don't know! It came out when I was in high school and I don't really remember ever going to the movies in high school. Plus I remember thinking Chris Tucker's character looked extremely annoying and I thought he was the main character. The movie was nothing like I thought it was.

Yeah I have a hard time psyching myself up to watch long movies too. Especially if they are older movies...I still haven't been motivated enough to watch Gone With The Wind or Lawrence of Arabia. Seriously how is Gone With The Wind FOUR HOURS???

I don't know what I'm doing with my collection at the moment. Just needing to stop buying stuff I don't need!

I'll admit I didn't see the Fifth Element right when it came out because I thought it looked weird, but I did see it when it came out on video and I immediately loved it. Every scene with Chris Tucker I always think "what in the actual **** is up with that dude", but thats totally part what the character is supposed to make you think. His weirdness makes Jar Jar Binks look like a normal character lol.

Don't feel bad I haven't seen either of those two either. I don't really care how good a movie is, 4 hours is too much for me.

Thats what I realized with the Hulk/Wolverine dio. I really wanted it but I don't need it and it doesn't go with anything that I have which is why I went with Jango instead. From this point forward I'm only going to stick to PFs. I'm passing on HTs too, which is really hard because they keep coming out better and better. Did you see the Dr. Strange one that just went up?

Yeah Tucker's character was quite absurd, but it fit the movie. So I went through all the theatrical releases when I was in high school...apparently I only saw 4 movies in the theater: Star Wars Special Edition in 97, Saving Private Ryan (twice) in 98, Phantom Menace (twice) in 99, and (still embarrassed 17 years later) She's All That. Ha ha, I rented movies all the time though. I may have also seen Independence Day and Men in Black in theaters but can't remember for sure.

I'm determined to watch Gone With the Wind one day just to see what all the fuss is about. I sat through all of Ben-Hur one day, I'm sure I can do it.

That's smart going with Jango since he fits into your collection. I saw Strange went up, but didn't bother clicking the email to check him out. Maybe I'll go look.

I'm glad I missed all of that complaining when the SW PFs first came out. These statues look exactly how I see these characters in my head so they are pretty much perfection for me. The poses sometimes piss me off though lol.

That will be really cool to have something so different in your collection. The super dynamic bases and features will most likely make these all stand way out from the rest of your older stuff.

I still want to see the bases and poses of the Vader dio. The closeups of the heads just isn't enough for me.

Yeah, so do I. I think he'll have his hand out like in ESB from I've seen.

I'm excited man. Slowly thinning out the collection. My Han in Carbonite PF just sold for over 1k, LOL!

It was brutal man. But even as brutal as that was, it was far worse when Code 3 made their SW ships. You think statue collectors are bad. Damn!

Thought I did, but I'll have to double check. Yeah, I've seen Boba going for cheap!

I'm the opposite when it comes to any SS Boba and XM's. Thankfully there's options for everyone. :)

:wtf:!!!! You're killin' me dude! Haha! I didn't see 5th Element until it came out on home video. Think I had the Laserdisc. But, yeah, instant love for me. Especially Chris Tucker's character. I do that "Bzzzzzzzzt!" thing all the time. Ha!

Yup! Same!

Lawrence of Arabia was one of my favorite movies as a kid. Not so much now. My tastes have changed. Never cared much for GWTW. But, as far as cinema history goes, you should watch both. Once! LOL!

Yeah Tucker's character was quite absurd, but it fit the movie. $1K for Carbonite Han?! Holy cow! I sold my Star Wars PFs a few months before TFA came out which seemed to cause prices to skyrocket. I didn't lose money on anything, but didn't get $1K for my Carbonite Han...that's a pretty bland statue to be spending that much money on. With the exception of my Harley EX, I'm going to be taking a hit on my DC statues thanks to Sideshow's ridiculous over production.

Ben-Hur was pretty good, I need to watch more Heston films. I will watch those other two eventually.

Do people think you have a disorder when you do the "bzzzzzzzzt?" Ha ha

I was a freshman in high school when phantom menace came out. I think I saw it 3 times in the theater. I was still in grade school when Independence Day and Men In Black came out, I think I saw Independence Day 3 times, and I think I saw Men in Black once. I am proud to say in the 17 years that She's All That has been out I've never seen it once ,

Holy ****! That thing has sky rocketed. If you are thinking about selling your Tarkin PF you should do it now there have been posts on the forums lately of people saying how much they want him and can't find him. I bet you could get at least another grand there.

Thanks man, I figured I've been whining about Jango for over 2 years now, I would feel like a douche for passing on him lol. He is in my list of top 5 SW characters SS didn't make in PF yet, so I pretty much had to get him.

Bzzzzzzzzzt! I need to watch that movie again.

Ben-Hur was pretty good, I need to watch more Heston films. I will watch those other two eventually.

Do people think you have a disorder when you do the "bzzzzzzzzt?" Ha ha

I knew the high ES on that DC stuff would surely bite collectors in the ass if they tried to sell them. I actually took a hit on my Catwoman EX when I sold her. I've seen the Batman EX sell for under retail recently too. Which is crazy because when that thing first sold out it was selling for over $600 on eBay. I decided to part out my Batman EX when I sold it and got over $800 for it. I sold the exclusive batarang hand for $200 alone. I figured that with such a high ES there would surely be collectors out there that would need parts to replace their damaged parts and I was right. I think the heads went for a hundred each, the base went for over a hundred too. Its a pain in the ass to sell it that way but it was worth it to get back double what I paid for it.

Lucky man, don't ever watch that movie!

I'm fully expecting to take a hit on my Catwoman EX and my Batgirl. Batgirl was selling for a high price at first then Sideshow made more. That's another reason I'm losing patience with Sideshow. Why pay a ton of money for something that is way overproduced? You can still buy most of their DC statues from their site. It's not exactly a collectible when everyone can get one. Not to mention they are in the exact same pose on top of it! I wonder if the reason they announced the Cheetah ES up front is because their sales are struggling. Even their EX of Aquaman is still for sale and he's already shipping.

Oh, don't worry I'm not planning on it ! Did a girl at least drag you to see that movie, or did you go willingly?

I still wonder if DC has something to do with the high ES. I know Superman and Batman are huge sellers but 9500 Batmans total and 7500 Supermans total sounds extremely extreme. They aren't doing that high of an ES with any of their Marvel stuff. At least Cheetah EX has a reasonably low ES but no telling how many regs they will make. Now that you mention it there have been quite a few pieces over the last couple of years that have had the EX still available for purchase when its started shipping. Its almost becoming pointless to P.O.

No comment on the movie. :p

That's smart how you sold your Batman PF. Something to keep in mind.

Yeah the ES for their DC stuff is ridiculous. XM is doing it the right way. They set an ES (highest is usually 999) and all their statues come with multiple swap out parts. Sideshow approaching $600 for their statues is making XM seem like the better deal since you're actually getting a collectible from them!

I imagine if XM makes Batman or Joker those prices will reach Magneto level. I see their Ghost Rider and Cable are already selling for huge premiums.

Ha ha!

If you are going to sell him I'd put the Exclusive hand up for purchase first and see if you can get somebody to bite for 200 bucks. Mine sold in less than a day, but this is when there was a really high demand for the EX, I'm not sure how much demand there is anymore. If you can sell that then you should be able to at least $400 for the rest of the statue too as long as you sell everything individually. If you sell the whole thing as a statue you'll probably only get $385-$400 for it.

I'm wondering how long XM will stick with their 999 ES. They've got to be keeping an eye on the aftermarket and seeing the demand for these things. When it comes to ES I'd obviously prefer it to be smaller, but in the end I don't think it impacts the wow factor of a single piece I've bought, and when people see them they never ask how rare these things are, they are just like "OMG" followed by "how much did that cost?" lol. The ES only impacts how much I'll get when I sell it, which is something none of these companies care about.

Geez I should sell my Superman EX head that's been in the box since I got it. Especially since I'll never sell my Superman anyhow.

Ha, yeah I usually just say "a lot" when I get the cost question. I don't really want to discuss what I'm blowing my money on, ha.

I don't know if XM cares, I think they'll just make a new version of characters. They've already released two Caps. Most of their stuff isn't too ridiculous in the after market since they already cost so much to get shipped here in the first place! I can already tell people are struggling to sell their Elektra POs, hopefully that one is attainable at a discount later.

Only sell that Superman head if you are 100% certain you won't ever want to display it. I know how much of a Superman fan you are and if there is even a 1% chance you might want to briefly display it someday just to change it up for a bit you probably won't ever be able to get it back reasonably priced.

People will look at us like we are insane if we tell them how much these things cost .

I didn't realize XM did two Caps already. I think I forgot how quickly this company cranks out products. I can't wait to see what they do with DC if they get the license.

They think that whether I say that or not, LOL!

It's the only Heston film I like. Well, maybe except for Wayne's World, Haha!

Yeah, unreal, right? I had put a BIN of $850 and a first bid at $345. Sure enough, someone bid one it the minute it went up. And, it sat at $450 all the way up to the day the auction ended. Had no idea it would have ended that high.

So do I! I might just watch it tonight. Haven't seen it this year yet.

That's ok man. I'll be douche enough for both of us, LOL! I really want to get it because it's Jango, but I also really need to focus my collection more. I'm not saying never, just not likely.

I have thought about selling the Tarkin PF. I have the EX, but no box for it. It would have to be someone local or I'd have to find a good way to ship it without it getting f'd up. I can do it. Have done it before, but it's a PITA! If you hear of someone hear Washington who is looking for it though, send them my way.

Gordon Street? Ahh.. yes. Gordon Street.

I bet there is someone kicking themselves right now for not buying it now for $850 .

LOL! Maybe if you keep making bank on all of your statues at this rate you'll have enough to buy a dozen XM pieces and a Jango PF lol.

If you want I can make a post letting people know you might be looking to sell your Tarkin for local pickup in Washington. I can't blame you for not wanting to ship one of those without the original box. I always cringe a little whenever I sell one of them even if I have the original box and styrofoam just knowing how much abuse the boxes take in the mail.
