Steelbook / Ironpack Controversy Continues!

I did some reading on this and as far as I can tell, The designers (who made steelbooks), also designed Iron-Packs). I have both and even though I prefere steelbooks, I would buy an Iron-Pack if it was only other option.

Lets look at some of those great steelbooks, like Iron-Man, that are selling for over $300 now, because steelbooks were just starting out. I'd rather not pay 8 times it's supposed worth, because someone wants to be greedy.

The designers did not create IronPack, I was confirmed this by the creator of steelbook via personal email. You can take that for what its worth.

originally asked based on a user's question posted here before ....

"Yes they are. I own 2 of these (IronPack) and i recently found out that the people who made steelbooks, also contributed to the Iron Packs. I guess that's why they look so similar. The spine on the steelbooks, still look better in my opinion though."

My reply given from Steelbook(tm) contact

Hi John,

we have nothing to do with the IronPack whatsoever, and are of the opinion that the IronPack is infinging our IP rights.

Have a great day!

Venlig hilsen/Best regards

ps. Dont worry bout IronMan ... I'm sure some country will rerelease it soon enough ... although probably not the same kick ass Canadian artwork.

Wreck, that stinks-which one was scratched, or do you just mean scratches on Iron Packs, in general?

I had bought Warlords so I could see the Ironpack product in hand ...

Just seems to me IronPacks are subject to getting tons of lil scratches that arent apparent unless looked at from an angle or under light.

So thats the downside to that ....

On the other hand, the downside to a Steelbook scratch is that they usually dig in leaving a more visible mark.

If I buy an IronPack its because there is no Steelbook for it ... or the steelbook artwork totally sucks.

but I'm no fan of bootlegging by any means, be it music, movies or even copyrighted packaging like that of SteelBook.
