Discuss the value of certain steels, releases, etc. What do you think is worth the most and why? Which ones do you see gaining value etc?

There is many reasons why we love and collect steelbooks, but for some value and collectibility come into play on how rare/scarce the movie is or the amount of demand there is for that title and that is what this thread is about.

So lets keep this thread for basically just random discussion on the value of Steels and predictions and what not.

Yeah, so FS IAL from 2008 went for $73.05 a couple days ago on ebay.

Another 1 is for sale and its only at $49.99. Im sure when other people start bidding it won't be that cheap but it definatley won't hit $200.

I have seen them go for over $300 (mint and sealed).

The price dropped like a hangover terd when the news of the re-release was announced

LOL i'd love a re-release of Iron Man as I refuse to pay £100+ for a steelbook (or should I say the wife wouldn't let me :emb:).

I got a Iron Man de for £45 but arrived bent in half due to piss poor packaging  since then i've been out of luck sourcing either Iron Man :(

I got Indy so hope they don't re-release that one :p

:hilarious:

But, its always nice to know you are a very chosen few that ACTUALLY have the IAL SB from 2008, when it was first released.

Absolutely, and no matter how small they are, there will be differences between the original and the re-release.

(I still stand by my original belief about this re-release and the other steelbook re-releases slated for the same day)

I believe that might go for the Amazon.de re-releases. The art I've seen doesn't look sharp like the origial MM releases. Of course I haven't seen the real thing yet, so I could be wrong.

I predict Disney steelies will cost a grip at the end of this year!

Just cause they are basically out of stock now ya know ... and when new collectors come along , many of these are wanted .. the more popular ones I think will be fetching a good price.

Not based on any inside info lol. Tho it would be nice to see another X weeks of Disney ... that I guess would raise the value on some of the O.G.'s as well haha.
