Production Officially Begins on Stephen King’s IT!
IT-MOVIE-HEADER.jpg

Mama director Andy Muschietti has taken to Instagram to confirm that production has officially begun on Stephen King’s IT! The film will feature Jaeden Lieberher (Midnight Special) as Bill Denbrough, Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) as Richie Tozier, newcomer Sophia Lillis as Beverly Marsh, Jack Dylan Grazer (Tales of Halloween) as Stan Uris, Wyatt Oleff (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Eddie Kaspbrak, Chosen Jacobs (“Hawaii Five-0”) as Mike Hanlon and Jeremy Ray Taylor (42) as Ben Hanscom, the younger versions of the story’s protagonists, and with 25-year-old Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard (“Hemlock Grove,” The Divergent Series: Allegiant) as central villain Pennywise the clown.

Based on the novel by Stephen King, the film’s story recalls a promise made twenty-eight years ago that forces seven adults to reunite in Derry, Maine, where as teenagers they battled an evil creature that preyed on the city’s children. Unsure that their Losers Club had vanquished the creature all those years ago, the seven had vowed to return to Derry if IT should ever reappear. Now, children are being murdered again and their repressed memories of that summer return as they prepare to do battle with the monster lurking in Derry’s sewers once more.

The film is set to be released in two parts with Part One will focusing on the group of teens called the Losers Club, while Part Two is set around the repercussions on these characters as adults. Stephen King’s IT Part One will be released on September 8, 2017.

I love it! A brilliant way to promote the film! :notworthy: Wish they would've done that here! ;)

Yeah I said that to my mate earlier.

I said to him if I see them attached to my drain outside my house id instantly know what it was for but I'd also cry in fear and wouldn't leave the house lol

The reviews and praise that this film has been getting is truly blowing my mind! First Stephen King says that he wasn't prepared for how great it would be, and now even The Rock is posting about IT on Instagram, saying that the film is now in his Top 10 of all-time. :OMG:

I'm loving the praise this is getting

I read that about King the other day and made me happy. Seriously can't wait to see it but it will be Tuesday now

My local cinema is just a crappy lil cheap cinema but it gets all the new releases. It never sells out on showings but does come close with marvel films, Star Wars and the odd other blockbuster but you will always be able to get a seat, this film has sold out with no seats for like 4 days straight which means Tuesday will be my earliest option so I'll have to book that tomorrow. That alone tells me how many people are looking forward to this especially when they didn't even sell out for force awakens, rogue one or civil war for example.
My town must love a horror because Covenant was quite busy too and I went a few days after release

I actually live in eerie Indiana

My small town is the same. They rarely sell out at the theatre, but when it happens, you know it's something special. This film is booking seats quickly here, too. I'm going to catch an afternoon matinee this weekend. That way it's still light outside when I leave and I don't have to worry about creepy-as-**** clowns jumping at me from the shadows.

@AlexG got some love for his AWESOME fan art! :photo:  AWESOME! :notworthy:

Hell yeah! That's awesome! Congrats, @AlexG!

Lol that's a good idea

My eyes really mess up when I go cinema in the day though and then walk out to bright light

IT had a domestic Friday pull of $51-million. Add on its record-breaking $13.5-mill opening on Thursday, and its now looking at an easy $100-million+ opening weekend... thus making it the biggest horror opening in history, the biggest September opening in history, and the second biggest opening for an R-rated film behind Deadpool.

The sequel has officially been announced! I'm seeing this today, so I'll share my thoughts later. :)

I saw it tonight. It wasn't the masterpiece that so many people are calling it (too much CGI), but it was still damn good. Bill Skarsgård was unbelievably creepy as Pennywise and the cast of young actors were perfect as the Losers' Club. I'm definitely looking forward to Part 2 now!
