First rant. I so desperately wanted this title when it was first announced. Then there were constant delays and the Korean edition was released. I gave up collecting, partially came back. To be honest I had lost interest by the time it was officially announced. Then they announced the prices and I thought what the actual f@ck. All that dosh for a Matt finish killed it for me tbh. FA have got super greedy, plus I don’t understand why group buy fees are being charged on top of the already extortionate shipping and PayPal fees, unacceptable in my view. This leads me on to my second rant. This site used to be a community of like minded folk who were tired of the BS given by certain mod(S) at br.com, but now it just seems to be an elitist site demanding large amounts of money from its loyal fan base. Cult anyone? I for one am hugely disappointed in the direction this site has gone in.

I think you need to explain a little more @Blu-devil ......so you think HDN has become a cult because HDN are demanding more money from its fan base? I’m curious.....how did you work that one out? If it’s because of the GB prices, they aren’t set by HDN. They are set by the retailers......I’m sure you’re more than aware of that. This place is still the same as it was.......if I’ve taken your post the wrong way then my apologies.

I’d like to know more why you think differently. I’m not fishing here for a fight, I’m genuinely interested. Please feel free to PM me so we can discuss.

right first of all this not arguement either just a view

cooey the paypal fees are set by the retailers you say, in this case saying 7.5% i dont fully see how this is quite so when i looked at paypals own website it lists as 3.4%+fixed fee.
https://www.paypal.com/uk/webapps/m...ersion-fees?locale.x=en_GB#currencyconversion

now maybe im the only one thinking this 7.5% does seem high imho. espically as i got the same steel fully shipped from another forum for £69.65 and here with paypal and shipping rates would have been £78.47 thats an £8.82 difference quite a bit unless under the current system
1.you take money from us to hdn (hdn pays a fee paypal)
2.then hdn pays carlenc (also then another fee from paypal to pay him).

where as under the old system if memory serves we just paid him direct so paypal fees would have been reduced down to one lot

the version im getting is being sent to my gb host from fa then onto me as well.

and forgot all the elitest comments i just think the paying structure could do with looking at a bit as when there is quite a difference of that amount for the same product.

food for thought

all the best

It's not free to run this site you know guys? The domain renewals, the web hosting, the SSL certs, none of them are handed out for free so of course HDN need to recoup what they can in GB's and web store purchases. Then there's people's personal time that's spent running the site and the GB's. If everyone begrudged HDN their cut then there wouldn't be a HDN and we'd all be a lot worse of then

@Basil Please, get your facts right first. When someone purchases via the GB system, there are two payments if it's not a HDN hosted GB. One payment goes straight to the GB host, the other to the HDN. Not both to HDN and then HDN forwards a payment on. There is no duplicating of paying PayPal fees.

I'll use this example that I have shared with Blu-devil....

When a GB host sets up a GB they input the price of the product, this is where the GB fees are taken, nowhere else and is taken automatically when the payment is taken. It's up to the seller what price they charge, again, nothing to do with HDN. Unless that price includes shipping (HDZeta or Blufans) then shipping is dealt with after the GB has taken place and is done direct to the GB host.

For example, I purchased the Batman Begins HDZeta one click. That was priced at a GB price of $198, out of that included a GB fee of $7.43, that goes to HDN the rest to HDZeta. Same goes for Blade Runner....$74 GB price with a HDN fee of $2.78 . Again, an insignificant amount compared to the overall cost. PayPal fees are then taken off of those payments by PayPal to respective recipients.

However, I don't want to derail this thread too much regarding the GB fees. If you wish to discuss this, please feel free to send me or any admin a PM who will be happy to discuss it with you.

@apsmith21 @Wreck

no that fine cooey you made you views more than clear maybe i got it a little twisted but still £8.82 difference however it plays out maybe its the hosts fault, i only looking at the bottom line.

thanks for the help in correcting me and getting it all straight. i now have good view on it and so does my wallett.

i wont derail thread anymore let it get back to normal talk and such like.

thanks for your help

My guess is most all that difference is in the shipping cost. 490czk is £17 and Im sure you are not having to pay that much for shipping to you from Germany

First off if your new found attitude is to come and talk smack like this then feel free to leave. Quickly making accusations and insulting this site is not how this Community works and yeah you used to be a valued member look at you now talking sh!t on the forum instead of pointing your frustrations in the right direction ? Foh

Do you b!tch about the road you drive on when it has pot holes or do you blame the city. Is it really Baker Lanes fault ? Or is it the city or funding or other cars fault ? But nah let’s blame Baker. That damn cult Baker !!!

Secondly without even getting into how much this site costs to run for anyone to believe that we are so knowledgeable that we have our hand on every little facet of this site knowing every little detail is ludicrous.

Prices are high for premiums and that is what sucks. You are more then welcome to buy direct from retailer if you can or fleabay then to use GB system. Wanna be mad , be mad at the retailer not the road as if we have some type of control how retailers and gb hosts set prices.

Blufans , Kimchi and Best Buy we have control. (Once past retail prices)

We offer shipped prices for blufans so does that mean we are making fees off your shipping ?? Oh that’s right cuz blufans gbs come w no fees (no extra pp payment) but do you not think something. Isn’t already factored in? No you think we just want to take on thousands of dollars of tax implications for free?

You don’t like how karel
And FA do it then be a host yourself and make it cheaper for the members here. I don’t live in Czech so you are barking up the wrong tree!!!!

On a happier note, I finally secured my Maniacs! Because of VAT deduction and customs friendly shipping, total price came down to €170 which I can live with for this. Look forward to March. :)

What would have been surprising before I guess isn't really surprising now.
All editions still available for ordering from FilmArena.

My order from the 20th for 2x DL's (one for me, one for a bud ;)) was refunded as the merchant didn't accept the payment in time apparently (this was 29/12). Contacted FA immediately after and haven't received a reply, just a computer generated email saying that I can continuously track my order via this link in my customer account, and thanks for the payment on the 20th  Twice they've sent that now but no other resolution :confused: WTF ! :wtf:
