The finish on the steelbook itself looks shocking (for the price).

I guess they can't make the GITD feature with gloss. But they should've just dropped it then. It's a pointless feature anyway obviously inspired by Koreas Train To Busan. Which was executed much more effectively.

Hi,

What are the conditions of the photo?? With artificial light? With flash??

I think we are speacking of something we don’t Have in our Hands in this moment.

Sometimes i think that is more easy to make critics of Filmarena that the other companies.

It’s really boring

The girlfriend didn't seem so hot when I first saw her but then I got her in my hands and my opinion changed.
Maybe it will be the same with this GITD steelbook.
However, it seems that I think more and more these days of getting her off my hands. Still giving me hell about steelbooks.
Maybe with time GITD steelbook buyers will also be looking to unload it.

The conditions of the photo is poor, but regardless, it doesn't look good and hasn't from any other live shots I've seen so far. Sacrificing a quality gloss/spot gloss? finish for the pointless use of GITD for Terminator is a stupid decision anyway IMO :stop: If they insist on using it though, do it justice at least. A solid green Arnie and Endoskeleton just doesn't bode well lol and the end product looks poor especially for the price, seeing it in my own hands won't change my mind in that respect. Not when I have the supreme NovaMedia steelbook anyway ;)

Glow in the dark you need to put it under a strong light source for a few min but not to close if you have a light source with a lot of heat coming from it
The glow effect will only be at it's best then
You need to do this every time you want the best effect as the glow effect will dissipate after a few min and that's normal

To see the glow effect at it's best it needs to be in total darkness once it been previously activated by a strong light source

Majority of glow in the dark effect is green that's normal
Zero dark thirty pet slip and full slips for example
Some of the best glow in the dark effect releases have been from grindhouse releasing their full slips with glow in the dark effect are fantastic

If glow effect not had a decent amount of strong light source to activate it the glow effect will be poor and that's normal

That photo posted earlier showing glow in the dark effect is poorly taken as it's not been under a strong light source for decent amount of time and to take photo would need to be total darkness don't go by that photo as it was not taken in total darkness
Photo done correctly would only show the glow in the dark effect

Here is a photo of the steelbook in normal conditions as in not in darkness photo from Fac Nation Facebook

A little birdie just told me how much better FAC E1 is than Nova's steelbook :wacky: I was like say whaaaaaaaaaa!!! EEK!EEK!EEK! To me, that is nigh-on perfection in terms of a steelbook. Embossing + Debossing, full mirror gloss and original poster artwork etc. So I tried arguing the case saying how he's so badly wrong it's untrue, but he's just so damn stubborn he won't listen lol... :wtf: Anyone would think he's an FAC Ambassador or something  :p

I thought the original poster art had the tagline “It’s nothing personal” on it?

Anyway...I’d rather wait until I have it in my hands. Most live photos found here are not perfect quality anyway (including my own....I have a simple iPhone X). Most photos are not correctly exposed. They give a good impression.

Not sure who the birdie is but here's my take (easier to find a good photo of Nova (credit to Hereticz) than of E1, and certainly not those that have surfaced today trying to show off the GITD feature) on the comparison:

FACE1vsNM.jpg

Nova's glossy finish almost means it wins right out, but does it really? FA has gone for something different no doubt and they should have played it safe in hindsight.
They both use the same art... but FA's is not as cropped, not only widthwise does it not crop the right mirror and brake lever but also height wise we get to see the front fender. The actual print looks better quality on the FAC, that may be the angle of the pics chosen or the particular quality of photos I've chosen but maybe not. The black on the Nova looks grainy in general (for example between the shotgun and Arnie's head), but maybe it's the compression for that particular photo.
Both feature embossing for a good chunk of the art, the embossing on the FAC looks more defined and sharp (just based on those pics), look at the embossing around Arnie's hair under the "N" in the Nova, now compare that with the FAC.
Schwarzenegger is embossed on the Nova. The title isn't. It is on the FAC though. The kerning is clearly better on the Nova, there is no comparison in that regard, I've been saying that for a while now, pretty sad that nobody at FA has been able to make it look professional.

The rear of both steels is nothing to write home about. The rear of E1 looks odd it's embossed though, but yeah, very odd, the placement, the lack of background... I'm confused as to how that was green lighted by the studio. Nova's has a tagline I didn't even know before seeing pics lol The art is small and while not terrible could have been much better as well. There were complaints for the rear of the latest Braveheart steel art. This is sort of the same situation.

Conclusion: HDZ, if they ever go ahead with T2, can improve on both of these... easily. All they have to do is pick some good rear art and not screw up the motorbike poster art... and dip it in gloss a couple of times.

P.S. Bring it!! :box::box:
